I know it mentions 'hair removal' but can anyone comment on how effective it is at removing hair from pipework? I've got 4 women in the house all with long hair and I'm forever clearing clumps of it from the shower... and that's the stuff I can reach and extract with one of those barbed plastic devices you can get but the water still takes an age to clear so I'm figuring there's probably clumps of hair further down the pipe! Be grateful if anyone can confirm it's actually helped them with this or similar issue? Thanks

Anyone intending to use caustic soda please be very, very careful. The reaction is extreme and if it splashes on you it can cause serious damage. I was trying to unblock my Nan’s sink and we didn’t realize how close to the surface the blockage was so when I poured the boiling water in it erupted almost instantly, splashing my hand - there was no time to cover the drain with a mug. Even though I washed it off my hand immediately, the top layer of skin just sort of fell off. Nurses at A&E had me run my hand under the tap for well over an hour because the reaction can continue to burn through your skin and cause permanent nerve damage. I have a permanent scar now and take safety equipment serious. I was so lucky it didn’t go in my eye. Don’t be an idiot like me: wear gloves and goggles. Chemicals like CS are no joke.

They’re currently £2.75 in B&M and I was underwhelmed. A bit of bleach would probably have dealt with the whiffy drains just as well, bought this on a whim.

Did it foam up? Where did you use it, in a sink or a drain?

Get the HG Stuff instead. About 40p more and you get double (1L) for that.

Entirely different method unblocker. Size is not comparable. This stuff just works. Unblocks what others can't. Though I'm sure I've got it for cheaper.

    Edit

S&S £2.55 was how got cheaper before.

    Excellent stuff. (edited)

It is never a good idea to get these from Amazon, as there are not UK quality check, ie Eastern product. 2nd, the package is terrible, so by the time it comes, it leaks badly, maybe poor transit, so the bleach and others leaked badly.
Also you should a plastic flat sieve filter to stop hair going down etc. For the wash basin, use regular cleaner and soap weekly to clean it.
These are not powerful to the acid attack, there are powerful and cheaper stuff, but plumber can buy. Tested these products, there are rubbish and waste of money, not sure why it has 562 hot lol

I used the mr muscle, I might have poured it in too fast because the foam didn’t stay at the top of the plug hole it looked like it just foamed up a bit and went straight down the drain. That’s literally money poured down the drain!!!
