Sony PlayStation 5 - 825 GB (Disc console)

The Sony PlayStation 5 rewrites the rules of what a console can do. Combining a custom CPU, GPU and lightning fast SSD storage, it'll load up all your games almost instantly, no matter how expansive.

Gaming graphics just got a lot more realistic. The PS5 works seamlessly with 4K HDR TVs, with the ability to output Ultra HD graphics with a 120 Hz refresh rate. If you have a 4K display, you can play at up to 120 fps for incredibly smooth, precise motion.

With support for HDR content, every game, character, and scene looks vivid and alive with colour. And ray-tracing technology creates true-to-life shadows and reflections to reach a new level of realism in supported games.

The all new PlayStation 5 DualSense controller transforms the way every game feels. The controller features haptic feedback, letting you feel the effects of the actions you take in the game.

The triggers have changed, too. With dynamic resistance levels, Adaptive Triggers make everything from taking a shot on goal to overtaking on the racetrack feel unique.

PlayStation God of War Ragnarök (digital) - PS5

Embark on an epic journey to find the means to prevent Ragnarök. Continue the story of Kratos and his teenage son Atreus on the backdrop of Norse mythology. Venture through all Nine Realms as the Fimbulwinter draws to an end and face hostile Asgardian forces in breath-taking battles. Can Kratos break free of his past and help Atreus understand the prophecy of Loki?

Good to know

- Journey through stunning landscapes with a wide variety of enemy creatures
- Classic weapons of war like the Leviathan Axe and Guardian Shield return alongside a host of new abilities for both characters
- Defeat monsters and even Norse gods in fluid and fast-paced combat
- Play the climactic finale of the Norse mythology series in one of the most highly anticipated PlayStation games of 2022
- Get extra immersion with this PS5 version - detailed haptic feedback, adaptive trigger functionality, 3D audio and dynamic 4K resolution at 60fps

PlayStation Saints Row: Day One Edition - PS5

Welcome to the weird, wild west. Set in the city of Santo Ileso, it's the biggest Saints Row map yet. Explore the sandbox open-world as you build your criminal empire from the ground up. Become the boss of The Saints as you take over the city, waging war against rival factions along the way. Expect blockbuster action, criminal side hustles and lots of jokes thrown in too.

Good to know

- Whether you want to look stylish or just plain silly, express yourself with almost endless character customisation
- From revolvers to rocket launchers, there are loads of customisable weapons to choose from too
- Delve into Santo Ileso's nine districts as you make your mark on the city
- There are loads of ways to get around - take your pick of cars, bikes, planes and helicopters or just glide around in your wingsuit
- Play the whole game (or just a few missions) with a friend with drop-in/drop-out co-op

PlayStation Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion - PS5

Reunion is the fully remasteredversion of Crisis Core, the much-loved Final Fantasy VII prequel. You want everything next gen, you got it. That means completely updated HD graphics, a reimagined UI and an updated combat system. Even the soundtrack has been remastered. In a nutshell: classic story, modern gaming.

Good to know

- The game kicks off seven years before Finally Fantasy VII and, as Zack Fair, you investigate Shinra Electric's mysterious experiments
- As well as Zack Fair, loads of other classic characters from Final Fantasy VII feature, including Cloud
- Why is Sephiroth such a big meanie in FF7? He's a huge part of this prequel so you get heaps of backstory

PlayStation LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga - PS5

What we love

- Fly to some of the most iconic planets and relive all the classic events, like podracing with Anakin Skywalker on Tatooine or Ewok Revolt on Endor
- Start the storyline with Anakin in The Phantom Menace or anywhere else across all 9 episodes
- With hundreds of playable characters, you can help the forces of good as Qui-Gonn Jinn, Chewbacca or Leia Organa or even join the dark side and play as Kylo Ren, Darth Maul or Palpatine

Good to know

- Enjoy a variety of gameplay from relaxed exploration and puzzles to high-speed aerial combat and swordfights with lightsabers
- Command a massive range of vehicles you know from the series - take down AT-AT walkers with T-47 airspeeders or jump to light speed aboard the Millenium Falcon

Not bad but at this point the PS5 should probably cost £399.

    It's a 2-year old console now. (edited)

The console is already priced under the hardware and production costs at full price. They make their money from the subscriptions and software sales. So I doubt you will ever see any huge reductions on the console.

This is a great price bundle though, so if you’re waiting then this may be your best offer for a while. Can always sell off the stuff you don’t want.

Also as mentioned in the OP, use work schemes or vouchers (Cardyard etc.) to purchase, that will save even more

More like demand had evened out. More stock coming in, less demand as the console has sold over 30m units, so more than 1/4 of the total PS4 sales. So consoles are sitting in warehouses longer and the games included are most likely the same, games not selling as they are older.

Slim is rumoured by the end of the year, or a new Digital only with a separate Disc drive add on if you want to use discs. Would make sense for Sony 1 SKU on the console then.

Not a bad deal. You get 4 games and could prob sell each one for £20+ each if you don't want them. So you get the console for less than £450. (edited)

Not until next year minimum is the reckoning for a ps5 slim. Then ps5 pro in 2026 with actual 4k rendering and ray tracing.

this is a great deal if you want those games.

But if you're gonna sell them, id just buy the base unit tbh. I cant imagine you'd recoup much more than £20 each on ebay after costs and then its a lot of hassle to save a tenner plus you'd have to then buy a game you did want.

I would much rather buy the GOW and extra controller bundle from BT Shop and buy the games separately than buy something like this from Currys as Currys can be a pain if something goes wrong and the fact they deliver in a plastic bag is terrible.

But if someone goes the Currys route try and collect it rather than delivered.

Alternatively forget about the 3 disc games and buy the GOW bundle from John Lewis with a 2 year warranty for £500. (edited)

I'd bite if the player supported Dolby Vision. Managed to get a cheap OLED and the difference between DV and regular HDR is v noticeable.

Just a point to consider about this deal, due to what I saw in the Terms on AO.com site just now for a similar deal.

"Please note, this bundle comes with digital games that you’ll need to download, and therefore it’s non-refundable."

So, since this Currys offer also says the GOW is DIGITAL, does this apply here as well?

If so, would it be only the price of the digital software that would be non refundable IF you sent the item back to Currys under your consumer rights (for example the 14 day distance selling rule)?

Or does this mean that AO, or Currys would be allowed to refuse to reimburse all £500+ back?
