Grab one of these quickly if you're after one. I've been keeping an eye on these for a while and prices are really going up. Richtone had these also at £379 (ex delivery) up until yesterday and they've now shot up to £529.

Prices are between £389 - £459 in other places, if they have stock.

The Epiphone Les Paul Studio from the Inspired by Gibson™ Collection is the modern version of the 80s classic originally intended for players seeking the classic Les Pau sound with no frills and less weight due to the Ultra Modern weight relief. Featuring Epiphone-designed Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers with push/pull volume controls for coil splitting, CTS potentiometers for the tone controls, world-class Grover machine heads, and new color finishes including Alpine White, Ebony, Wine Red, and Smokehouse Burst.

Full specs at epiphone.com/en-…ite

* Edit: For completeness, these are now £379 again at Richtone (possibly they had put the dollar figure but in pounds for these, who knows?).

Most all guitars are getting more expensive lately. And Gibson had already raised prices even before there was any better 'excuse' to do so.

I don't like Les Pauls but Epiphones are much praised now for closing the gap with Gibsons at a much more reasonable price.

Agreed. With a proper maple cap, decent hardware, Classic PRO humbuckers and, if it matters to you, a more 'Gibson' style headstock, these are really good value... at the moment.

I think that esp make the best les Paul shaped guitars, especially since they have the tummy cut, it makes the guitar more comfortable to play.49925302-8k2NH.jpg

Being thinner goes a long way as well. Les Pauls have this awkward 'compact but fat' sort of heavy feeling to them. ESP Eclipse has a longer scale, and thinner body and neck, so feels a bit better distributed and sits better on a lap and while standing. (edited)

I paid a bit more than £379 for a new epiphone black beauty in 2000, it had a terrible plastic nut and the worst humbuckers I've ever heard. Still got it, sorted the problems out. This is a no brainer if you want an LP.

I have a Custom from '99. Replaced the pickups with EMGs but still have the original nut. Did you replace yours with a better one?

First time buying from GuitarGuitar and am very pleased with the service. Had a good chat with a member of staff beforehand prior to ordering online. Fully tracked next day delivery and guitar turned up in excellent condition. (edited)
