I bought it more through wanting to get into more woodwork than a "need" , but it came into its own this winter when my mum's new shed doors had swollen soo much they wouldn't open...
A couple of measured controlled passes down the offending edges later I had a perfectly closing door,
Whilst this is perhaps an unusual use case, it made what would have been an awkward job with a manual planer a pop job done in seconds, and I immediately thought of jobs I'd done in the past that it would have saved me soon much time and effort, (unless you are a tradesman and have a decent plane setup) I'm well chuffed with it ..
