Kingston’s A400 solid-state drive dramatically improves the responsiveness of your existing system with incredible boot, loading and transfer times compared to mechanical hard drives. Powered by a latest-gen controller for read and write speeds of up to 500MB/s and 450MB/s¹, this SSD is 10x faster than a traditional hard drive¹ for higher performance, ultra-responsive multi-tasking and an overall faster system.

Also more reliable and durable than a hard drive, A400 is built with Flash memory. There are no moving parts, making it less likely to fail than a mechanical hard drive. It is also cooler and quieter, and its shock and vibration resistance makes it ideal for notebooks and other mobile computing devices.

Anyone else get theirs from recent CCL / Ebuyer offers?

Just opened one up and in HD Sentinel, I'm getting the following:

Problems occurred between the communication of the disk and the host 5xx, xxx times. In case of sudden system crash, reboot .... it is recommended to verify data and power cables etc etc.

Usual message should read 'The disk is PERFECT .....'

I know my connections, SATA cables and Sabrent USB to SATA cables are fine.

Health and performance seems to be fine at 100%

    Anyone else?

I bought one from the BT shop last week. 100% health at first. Copied about 400GB data over. It was showing 99% health now. Checked with HD Sentinel , Same problems as you.
E-mailed BT shop... They referred me to Kingston. Cutting a long story short I went to Kingston and explained the issues. They sent me a new one out. Got it on Monday. New one has the same issues.

Speak to whoever sold it to you... see what happens ?

    Edit... Kingston have said ..

"We believe that the mystery is solved.

SMART value C7 is likely being incorrectly interpreted.

For the SA400S37 series, C7 is reserved for the detection of RAW DATA, not CRC errors.

We can forward these findings to HD Sentinel to get them to update their software.

All we require from you is the SMART data export from HD Sentinel."

I did that... Next update from Kingston....

"We have passed this to our Technical Resources Group and they in turn will reach out to HD Sentinel.

As soon as we have any feedback, we will let you know."

I did try it in a USB3 caddy/enclosure as suggested by briandead21... same faults happened.

If you're using Windows, the easiest way to find the correct firmware is to install Kingston SSD Manager.

Dont buy this kingston crap, only brand ive had consistent issues with when using as a secondary drive for eg games, media.

You might get one that doesnt give you issues but for me it slowed down my whole PC to a crawl, took me way too long to figure out it was the SSD causing issues.

It was £37.49 when I posted, went down to £36.78
It’s now gone up to £37.33 but it is still good value

Might be better off paying a few bucks more for one with encryption. These drives are extremely basic but okay for bulk storage.
