sorted byIt's a DRAM-less TLC NAND drive, nothing special.
Same price as the WD SN570 which is a similar drive -

I'd still go with the cheaper Kioxia with DRAM over this (especially if using as an OS/apps drive) -

If you really need the higher sequential speeds, this DRAM-less Lexar is cheaper than the 980 and the SN570 -

There's not much to look out to check other than:
Is it an AM4 board to match my CPU?
Does it have an PCIe3.0 M.2 slot for the SSD?? (technically you could use the SSD in one that's lower than PCIe3.0 it just wouldn't run at full speed).
Pretty standard for motherboards to have M.2 slots these days so just have a look for a board in your price range. Different boards typically don't make much of a difference unless you're a heavy overclocker. Just get the one in your range that has the features you need. (edited)
Can anyone recommend an external enclosure to use with this?

Unbelievable when you see it's Argos...board manufacturers why limited slots on boards
This however is a steal

You can pick up the 2TB Blade for only £95, why bother spending £75 on a 1TB980 Pro? (edited)
Got the last one in stock in our local Argos.
Thanks
I'm sure some person who knows better will correct me, but hope this helps all the others wandering the same thing even if it gets a better response!!

shame!
Ta OP!
1TB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3500MB/sR | 2500MB/sW)
For just a little more than the £39.99.
1. Is this deal better?
2. Will it fit/be compatible?
TIA
The cheaper Kioxia I mentioned above is TLC NAND with DRAM, so would rate that higher. (edited)

Probably bumped the price when they noticed they suddenly got more sales and though it was far too cheap.
