Is 'hearty food" the Tesco basics range?

These are awful. They are full of grease, thick orange grease. I have never had a pizza so greasy.

I've never had a greasy one. I buy these on the regular, and they're actually a bit dry if anything ...

Did anyone else notice that they used to sell these for 69p then did an Aldi price match and put them up to 75p?

True, but a less than 5% increase is not that bad considering most food prices increase by 10-20%.

These are good to be used as a base, add your own fresh ingredients, and you have a similar to a £4+ pizza for a fraction of the cost.

An old favourite of mine WAS Eastmans Chicken & Bacon Pasta 400G @ £0.99. Not so much @ £1.29, £1.49

1 of a number of Tesco OWN BRANDS products that have seen, and continue to see big price hikes.

    ALDI PRICE MATCH @calinn?

I thought the idea was to REDUCE a price when matched, not (as Tesco have done, and NOT ONLY with this offering) Increase it, and when you point this out, you ACTUALLY get people DEFEND it.

I mentioned this nearly a year ago. Eg Tesco were selling a load of things at 69p.

Then increased them to £1 ish and proudly displayed a 'Price match with Aldi' label.

We're not stupid! You increased it 30%. You could've kept it at 69p!

And they did it with so many items.

And some of the good people of HUKD defended tesco (edited)

Good value imo, I used to live off these while at university. If you add some extra oregano and cheddar cheese on top, they're pretty decent (edited)

Not sure on what their use of hearty is meant to mean

You would get as much nutrition from eating the box

Ah, yer thinkin VEGETARIAN, where (as a rule) yer get more FLAVOUR (with anythin "vegetarian") by eating the box

These will fit in an Airfryer as I use the pepperoni nice and cheap.

These are great. A quick tip to make them better, add extra cheese and pepperoni, also homemade base and sauce.
    emmatthew's avatar

So if you add a home made base, sauce, pepperoni and extra cheese then you have a pizza.
Not sure how that makes them better, it’s a home made pizza to go with it.
No need to buy this then.

Allot of things are under the assumption of 'living crisis everything is so expensive' its corporations price gauging pure and simple because everyone's psychologically will accept it under the 'inflation' environment.

Notice how none of the supermarkets are really making profits public, it wouldn't surprise me if they have quadrupled if not more.

One has to ask where our 'so called' leaders are in 'looking out for the people'

They haven't looked out for the people they are supposed to represent for a very long time. They represent Davos interests & the international banking cartel. It is the same all across the West.

Aldi price match, now up to 90p for these pizzas. £3.60 for 5 pizzas still a good deal but Tesco are conning you.
