Merrell Speed Strike GORE-TEX Walking Boots
This athletic hybrid hiker is equipped with durable outdoor mesh uppers and a sticky trail outsole for confidence during outdoor adventures.

GORE-TEX Mesh Upper
The upper of the Speed Strike is crafted from a durable outdoor mesh that can stand the pressure of the trail. Thanks to the inherent breathability of the mesh, heat and vapour can escape, keeping your feet feeling cool and happy. Recycled webbing on the upper and a recycled mesh lining help keep the foot cool and comfortable whilst remaining an ethical option, so you can feel good whilst doing good for the planet. A GORE-TEX membrane with a bonded InvisibleFit construction helps feet stay dry from the inside and out, blocking out external water molecules, whilst allowing built-up moisture within the boot to escape. The recycled laces help you to find the perfect secure fit, and the protective rubber toe cap protects your feet and toes from bumps, knocks and scrapes from sharp rocks out on your adventures.

Lightweight EVA Midsole
Featuring a lightweight EVA foam, the midsole ensures a stable step and long-lasting comfort so you can continue without any distractions from discomfort. A recycled integrated EVA foam insole offers additional comfort for all-day wear. This combination ensures ample cushioning and softness underfoot for maximum comfort, whilst providing plenty of support for hard-working feet.

Merrell Sticky Rubber Outsole
Delivering extremely strong and durable grip on mixed terrain, the outsole will keep you firmly in control. With durable traction that grips when and where you need it, the rubber will form a strong bond with the ground beneath it to anchor you in place. The rubber is also highly durable, which will mean that it will stand up against abuse, maintaining its shape and definition for long-term functionality.

  • Mesh Upper - Durable and breathable.
  • Recycled Webbing - For an ethical choice.
  • Recycled Mesh Lining - Highly breathable and eco-conscious.
  • GORE-TEX Membrane - Keeps feet dry from the outside and inside.
  • Recycled Laces - Help you find the perfect fit.
  • Rubber Toe Cap - Protects feet from rocks and debris.
  • Lightweight EVA Foam Midsole - Provides stability and comfort.
  • Merrell Sticky Rubber Outsole - With durable traction that grips when and where you need it.

Merrell... they will implode before you wear them in. Awful quality.

I've got a pair of Merrell boots that are about 10 years old with thousands of miles on them, and they are good as new apart from needing new waterproofing now and then.

The problem is most hillwalking boots look like trainers these days with similar material . I'm also on the hunt for new boots and really considered the Scarpa ones yesterday on hukd from sports pursuit , but after reading reviews they apparently are not that waterproof even with goretex lining .

I have a pair of Berghaus boots that have been bombproof over the past 8 years and the sole is still intact but I just constantly need to re-waterproof so on the lookout for something else . Any recommendations folks with a budget up to £100 ? I don't want to go much higher as I don't do that much hillwalking these days so don't want to spend a small fortune , but yes anything that doesn't need waterproofing every other week . Cheers
