I like people like you. Ask a question and it shall be answered

So Ashwaghanda is what is known as an adaptogen and this term was coined by a soviet toxicologist Nikolai Lazarev and it means a substance that increases resistance to stress.

This product is a well known standardised extract called KSM-66. There are many standardised extracts of Ashwaghanda.

Here's an article that discusses just the 3 main standardised extracts which are KSM-66, Sensoril and Shoden. Although if you check the product list for Ashwaghanda on that site you'll see more.

I've personally tried raw root Ashwaghanda, KSM-66 and Shoden. For me Shoden works the best and KSM-66 messes with my sleep.

I do know it has an effect for me personally however there are very limited studies on this plant. It is a plant that is part of Indian Ayurvedic medicine. Usually used along with Gotu Kola.

I can probably write an essay on this but this is a general forum and people don't like it sometimes when I do write long essays on subjects of my interest, understandable I guess.

I'm a huge fan of ashwagangha, but just worth noting that 500mg of KSM-66 is a pretty high dose and I'd struggle with that.

If you try it and find it a little too much, try something like 250mg of Sensoril, which is much more mellow.
