Carphone Warehouse Trade-In issues
Hi,
I purchased an S23 Ultra through a deal on here a few weeks ago which had a £150 trade-in promotion attached to it.
I had an old phone that they would offer £2 for, fully working, and sent that off expecting £152. Received the phone back today with a note saying 'Data wipe failed'.
I've emailed them and they've said that some phones aren't compatible with their data wipe system so they can't accept them as working, hence they've returned it. So I'm £150 down. The criteria for a working phone does not say 'must be compatible with out data wipe system', just that it everything should work (which it does).
Has anyone else come across this before? Surely if they can never accept a working phone of this model, they shouldn't list it on their website?

sorted byPersonally I would ask which phones their system supports. I would ask the most annoying questions under the guise of trying to determine where I fell foul of their terms in order to tire them out until they refund. I would not give up on principle.
