What does a typical Christmas day look like for you?

Just me the wife and 2 kids this year, plan to watch movies and play Nintendo Switch most of the day and probably some traditional board games also.

I'll be working as usual because some nutters are willing to pay 89 quid per head for a bloody roast !

Yeah. Covid and colds around this year. Missed me so far but the wife has a bad cold. Or is it covid? Past caring now tbh.

    Lay in until 9.30 tomorrow.
Pick up a relative for dinner at 1pm that's 30 mins away and drop off back home later in the evening, so no drinking for me.
Stuff face way too much around 3pm
Watch kings first speech at 3pm on tv.

Best meal will be boxing day. Cold turkey, chips peas and onion rings. Fresh bread and butter. Look forward to that every year.
Christmas changes as you get older.
Quieter. No hangover. Sitting down as much as possible.

Christmas is not a life test. You won't get scored. No need to get stressed or overwhelmed. It's just another day best spent relaxing and taking in your stride.
Prepare veg ect today ready for tomorrow if you can.

I will say the worst time I had at Christmas was 3 years ago setting up a playstation. Nightmare. Took 3+ hours of misery with everyone looking at me to sort out. Not touched it since. Had I of known I'd of researched before or bought a bike instead.ha

It's been my dream ever since I was a little buoy..

I hate Xmas with a passion. Too much chew on, expensive and usually poor weather.
Can't wait for for the entire hoo har to be over and done with.

Up stupid early, enjoying the peace with the cats. Kids here for midday so they'll be wide awake and probably full of sugar. Open some presents and have lunch.

I always buy a new board game from amazon for Xmas day so we're not all sat on various tech not talking.
Few beers maybe and loads of sweets for the kids, making sure they're happy makes me happy.
Hopefully a snooze at some point too

Christmas Day is pretty much the same as any other day for us.
    Christmas cards continuously falling over.
    No tree or decorations.
As usual we are having a couple of dozen friends over for Christmas Eve dinner today.
We don’t need all the sentimental garbage to celebrate Christmas.
We don’t follow the consumerism sheep.

I spend most of the day going Bah humbug! I'm finding it gets harder each year. It's a mixed day of emotions, for the past several years I've had several deaths around the festive period to deal with. This year is no different. Lost my step grandmother and great uncle last week and whilst I didn't personally have much to do with them, I've got to deal with my mum who did. My step dad died 2 years ago, my grandmother died 10 years ago so it's difficult to deal with. Also my daughter has just had COVID again, there's also a cold going around which I've had and didn't want to spread etc. now my wife and other daughter has got the cold. Still I'll smile and pretend I'm ok. I think the only thing I enjoy about Christmas is seeing my kids open their presents and spending that special time with my family. (edited)

We've had ours. Son came home on Thurs and we've been having fun since. We had lunch at Mariners in Rock on Friday which was fabulous and then walked along the beach. It was windy and not many out other than dog walkers. Loads of holidaymakers down though as the pub was heaving.

Just the two of us tomorrow but the full turkey and trimmings. We will start the day with a walk around the village and then get things started with a glass of Camel Valley sparkling. As he prepares lunch I shall have a mooch around the internet looking at the sales. Not that we need anything (HUKD severed that connection years ago!)

Merry Christmas to those who are celebrating, wishing you all a very happy and relaxing time.

Different this year, saving Xmas dinner for Boxing Day so someone isn’t in the kitchen for hours away from the kids playing with their presents.

The trick is to prep everything Xmas eve then you don't have that issue.

Morning walk with the dog, then wait on the teenage boy finally get out his bed to open his presents, chill in front of the TV and then order an Indian takeaway for dinner and back to watching the tv in between taking the dog out…keeping it simple this year!
