Disappointing Boxing Day Deals.....

As per title, nothing on HUKD (which is insanely surprising as there was a lot of activity previous Xmas years/boxing day).

What does that mean? Have i missed stuff or was it the same for everyone here?

Retailers have become smarter at stocking up, especially after the glut in 2020. A lot of food was cleared out before Christmas.

I was speaking to a member of reduction staff at my local sainsburys on Boxing Day. Staff were explicitly forbidden from reducing anything Xmas branded, even stuff with a date that day. It was literally all going in the bin. An aisle end was filled with stuff going straight in the bin. £70 turkey crowns, huge packages of salmon, giant desserts etc. Straight in the bin.

    Disgraceful.

Worst Xmas I've seen here in over a decade, it's usually a flurry of activity around the clock, especially on Xmas day with reduced Xmas decoration deals etc. I've been noticing a slow but gradual decline here in recent years with a lot of the old faces gone one way or another and general quality of discourse and deals on a downward trend. Throwing out HUKD tradition, an Xmas deer hunt likely hasn't helped matters, something which I cannot get my head around in all honesty.

Where are the old faces going, too? heard somewhere hinted at before but it wasn't said. I would like to know, if anyone could fill me in.

Our fridge died Christmas day, luckily the freezer is still working but need a new one very soon. Deals are terrible, prices are the same everywhere yet everything is in sale.

Very unlucky fridge breaking on Christmas Day. Normally go in the summer when overworked.

    Everyone is saying same.
I also noticed hardly any TVs or sky mobile giving free data on Christmas Day as they do this every year

Sky are trying to save as much money as possible by pushing everyone to Stream. Bye bye engineers.

no, not seeing many good deals tbh.
Hopefully people are holding off and better deals arrive soon.

There seems to be so many 'sale' periods within a small amount of time, including early access days, probably doesn't help. January sales starting soon

    Not as many good deals.
Plus no flamedeer comp this year so a lot of people are not checking the site as much and not as many deals are being posted.

    Why no flamedeer this Xmas?

Just had a phone call from my local Halfords store to say my order of a Boardman Adv 8.9E Mens Adventure Electric Bike for £0.01 was a mistake and they won't be honoring it

I’ve been thinking the same thing, so glad I’m not alone in thinking the sales this year are pretty rubbish!

Not that I actually need anything, but a new TV might be nice…
