I guess this means even more restrictions in deliveries and another courier price hike?

Yodel’s customers include John Lewis, Argos, Zara, Tails, Yours Clothing, Very and AO World.

Yodel emply between 10,000 - 12,000 staff, depending on the time of the year, so sadly if this does happen, there could be huge risks to those staff regarding their jobs

Parcel courier Yodel has put administrators on standby as hopes of a rescue deal fade.

The delivery company has lined up insolvency experts at Teneo after it failed to find a buyer in time.

Yodel services some of the high street’s biggest names, including Argos, AO World, John Lewis, Very and Zara.

The Telegraph reported that no decision to appoint administrators had been made and the company said on Wednesday it was “business as usual”.

However, it comes as a source close to the negotiations over Yodel’s future said the company’s financial obligations meant an urgent cash injection is needed within two weeks.

Although the company has enough cash to pay its delivery drivers the week after next, it is expected to struggle to cover future costs after this. Liverpool-based Yodel employs 12,000 nationwide during its busiest periods and around 10,000 the rest of the year, it said on its website.

Is it not just a case of "Survival of the Fittest"?

If a company is in this day and age, then (unless they have a monopoly/part of cartel/have govt. support) they're gonna go down just cos of consumer sentiment?

Supposed to be some announcement this weekend. I am going to hold off sending anything now through Yodel until there is clarity.

Owned by the people who own the paper that reported it
I wonder if the Saudis want it.

Yodel is already the cheapest for me for small parcels up to 1kg and I have always wondered how they survived on it.

    Only a matter of time.

They seem to always take a day or two longer than Evri, seems like an inefficient sorting process.

Have also noticed fewer parcels arrive via their couriers as Evri has swallowed up most retailers as the courier of choice.
