Tokyo in June? Tokyo bay to Tokyo central?

Hi,
I am planning to travel to Tokyo during mid /end of June. I heard its start of rainy season, is it bad like UK rains? Is it manageable with raincoats? Don't want to be caught in torrential rains or cyclones.

And anyone who has travelled there have any experience of staying in Tokyo Bay and visiting tourist places in the Central from there? How much approx will taxi cost for 6-8 people?

Thank you

I went in April, it was ok rain wise then - not sure about June. Do you still need a visa? Id love to go back there. Book to go to the Ninja restaurant, great fun. (edited)

Wow, I just looked & Tokyo Bay is the size of London.

Where are you going to stay?

Haven't booked anything yet... Some good hotels are cheaper in Tokyo Bay like hyatt, intercontinental, ihg...

By Tokyo Bay, do you mean Odaiba? By monorail it's typically about 40 minutes.

Not sure about taxi from Odaiba to say, Shimbashi - I avoided taxis like the plague on my past few visits as they can get pretty expensive. I think there are apps you can use now to summon one, but before they used to be pretty difficult to get.

Taxis from Narita airport to central Tokyo run about £200 - £300 as it is around 80km or 49 miles.

Edit (Sorry): I think rainy season in Japan is more like "cloudy every day with small, frequent rain." Can't tell you whether there will be a hurricane or cyclone or not, but when I experienced one (that went around Tokyo) it was mostly the wind that was an issue. They're reporting that there could be a shorter rainy season due to weather patterns - there wasn't one last year and it was HOT. (edited)

Thank you.. £200-300 is very expensive... British Airways direct flight is to Haneda, hopefully it is cheaper

You will find a little rain but their seasons are mostly like ours. But June will be hot, very hot. Even at night you get temps of 25c+ and may find it uncomfortable if you dont have air con.

Little rain is manageable, I don't mind the heat, so June could be an option.. Thank you
