Anyone here got one that can give an honest review on it? Apparently alot of the reviews on the Lumi site are fake (going by what someone on amazon said)

    Thanks

Yes I have one - I've had one since August (birthday present, used a fair amount during my marathon training).

So let's start with the obvious question - How do you keep it cold? So in the winter, particularly the last few months this hasn't been a huge issue. However, the months ahead this will be an issue. There is no simple answer here apart from the water won't be as cold as you want.

My technique is to firstly try and use it in the morning use takeaway plastic tubs full of ice, and place these in the water about 10/15 minutes before I'm due to go in. To give you an idea, my one is currently at about 12cNow I won't mislead you, this will only make a 1-2c difference, however it will make it chiller then outside air-temp mostly - which is the key difference. Target 1 minute for every degree as a guide.

Yes it is cold when you get in, fight those first few minutes and you will be cold afterwards once your body starts to work out what has happened The coldest I got in over winter was about 3c...breaking the ice layer - if I'm honest, I think that day I got in for about 1 minute only. However, you will get used to it and mostly temps sat around 5-9c over winter.

Do they work? Now you see I mentioned a marathon above, which I did at the weekend. I took a dip a few times a week in the morning (some people do every day). It's hard to say whether it does help my muscles "recover" etc. However, what I will say is that it does completely change my mental state, particularly at work. I'm a lot more calm and I'm just a nicer person. Do I think they worked n my muscles? Yes - I feel fresher...even if its just a placebo.

Would I buy one if I didnt have one? Yes - although it will be more difficult to keep cool in the summer. Yes you can get chiller units, but they are very expensive and I can't imagine they are cheap to run (and keep dry)

Is it good quality? No issues here, some people have deflating issues but I've never had that. (edited)

For 87 quid, it's worth it just for the mental health benefits. Thanks for sharing

Just bought one impulsively hope it helps my aching body

Solid deal. Tempted but I’m too soft to do anything as serious as an ice bath. Il stick to my warm bubble baths but good find
  11. Spike_202's avatar
I can see the appeal but I just use the bath for cold plunges for ease of use.

Heat or should I say ice added….XD

    That is an absolute steal!

The UFO lid is great, as the old flat one, water used to pool in the lid.

    Great size too.

    Hell of a deal!

Wondering why Lumi has so few reviews, there are basically identical products as the standard size for the same price with a voucher with thousands of reviews but Lumi claims to be the original?

Polar Recovery Tub / 370L Portable Ice Bath for Cold Water Therapy Training/an Ice Bathtub for Athletes - Adult Spa for Ice Baths and Soaking - Outdoor Cold Plunge Tub (Black) amzn.eu/d/c…3Lk

Once you add the cost of that UFO lid on to stop rain water sagging it the Lumi works out cheaper
