you'll need to relocate to turkey if you want to keep using their delivery services.

The jobs are not at risk. The riders will just drift to another gig economy service that serves those who don't know how to cook

Alongside Gorillas, which they had acquired for $1.2bn.

So that's how many casualties in UK rapid delivery?

    Genie
    Fancy
    Dija
    Jiffy
    Weezy
    Gorillas
    Getir

That leaves Gopuff and Zapp as the only pure dark store rapid delivery players left. I don't expect either to survive, the economics just don't work.

I feel like the only way rapid delivery can be sustainable is if it's additional income to an existing store, using gig economy workers. Tesco Whoosh, Sainsbury's Chop Chop, or third party marketplaces such as Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat. This pure play dark store and hourly employed staff requires a crazy amount of orders in a small delivery radius which is very challenging.

I've genuinely never heard of any of those companies you listed...

Probably just down to me being an old fart who gets off my backside and visits a shop when I need to buy food (edited)

Enough HUKDers 'live' in Turkiye for Netflix purposes so I'm sure they'll find a way!

I thought most HUKDers have homes in both Turkey and Argentina, catching summer through the year.

We don't even get deliveroo around here, let alone those smaller players. We've got Gary with his van once a day

Strong recommend checking Getir in the next day or two as they clear stock. I had £50 worth of (obviously hugely inflated) food and drink delivered for £14 yesterday (as was also offered £10 off £25 voucher). A lot of vastly discounted stock as they clear out.

I wondered why I hadn't seen their people at our small depot in the past few months; they were a nightmare cutting corners onto the wrong side of the road (including the cyclists that they used).
