This was my favorite buyer scam (attempt). I run an online business and this customer told me their delivery had been opened and all she had was an empty box. Even though the delivery photo shows it as delivered intact.

This was her response, I never heard from her again and even found her on facebook flaunting the products she claimed to have not received, it was a £60 order.

I had a ebay global shipping to romania, but the parcel got delivered to Austria!? Buyer said courier had delivered to wrong country and wanted a refund, naturally I investigated.
Found their facebook account, not only did they have photos of being in Austria, but also listed their employer (a global pharmaceutical co) near the address the courier delivered to, the buyer must have asked the courier to redirect their parcel from Romania to Austria then make a fraudulent claim.
I got another one involving a ps4, he claimed he didn't receive, yet 10 mins after signing with UPS he posted a photo of the console and the game I supplied bragging to his mates) - a chef on the south coast.
Both those cases buyer lost their claims, really I should have tipped off both companies they work for thieving dumb gits.

with global shipping, your responsibility stops at ebay center.
ddelivery further or even condition of parcel is than ebay responsibility.

    • The one I found was one who ordered pokémon cards packs (over £500) to a UK kebab shop.
    • ZERO feedback.
    • messaged me within 12hrs pressing me to post ASAP.
    • When I called him he "got angry" and refused to talk over the phone. Then immediately spam me with messages to post item asap.
    • When proposed I go meet him for cash on delivery option he refused. Then proceeds to spam me with screenshots of several eBay purchases of items (over £2000 each) dated more than 2 years yet ZERO feedback?
    • His name was very suspicious.
    • His account was selling a single item which showed his location as being in Americas.
    • It sounded the type to order item to a place where police cant trace people and then file a claim "item not as described" and return you a box of cereal etc.
    • eBay might block their account after multiple sellers report
    • eBay does NOT allow seller to post negative feedback to buyer account
    • Scammer rinse and repeat with another account and you have no idea what his residential address is.

I would have cancelled the order and blocked the buyer. Make sure you state in your description that you would want buyers to have certain number of minimal feedback atleast.

I bought this gaming PC, supposed to be a half decent PC with 3070 GPU, Arrived a totally different PC, I paid £300 which was too cheap for the advertised spec but received an ASUS ROG with 1660 Super and 10th gen i5. It was also shipped in a box twice it's size with zero internal packaging, it arrived a week late and upside down. It did however still work and had no damage. The seller refused to accept it was their fault and blamed ebay saying they put gaming pc and this is what ebay put. Seller refused to send a prepaid label and in the end ebay gave me a full refund, i've still got the PC.

As a buyer I have stung many times - the first was spending over £300 for DS games - I expected 300 cartridges, I got a single bootleg 300-in-1 cartridge and when I complained I fell for the "I've spent the money, you won't get a refund" excuse. I was new to ebay and it never occured to me to flag it with them - back when I was a DINKY and could afford to write off £300!
I got scammed over an Xbox, got sent a cardboard box with an X drawn on it. I did get a refund and the seller said he did it for fun. I also bought an external SSD drive that was one of those dodgy fake USB drive in a case deals, I got a full refund. The one that really stung was when I paid in full and the seller refused to ship to Nothern Ireland - he put in a "no payment" claim against me and despite proof of payment (this was before ebay & Paypal where linked) ebay sided with the seller and froze my account!
I could probably write a book with the amount of transactions gone wrong for me, but those are the most expensive ones I recall.

Just had a buyer contact me after 28 days, saying

"Check the follow-up tracking of parcel
Because the Ebay System has been only shipped but not yet delivered. "

He hasn't said he hasn't received it, though, and this is 1st contact since he purchased it. I recently got rid of the tracking details as it had been sent weeks ago.

It was only £50, and the account was based in Indonesia, but eBay provided a UK shipping address. I assume he will open a dispute, which I will lose. (edited)

out of interest what was the account feedback score and when were most recent feedback received?

I know you say only £50 but it is still a decent grocery shopping in that.
I personally try to avoid these type of overseas registered accounts

There are loads of scams, just Google it.
That said, I have sold loads of tech etc and it isn't unusual that it is bought by a 0% feedback buyer. What do you expect them to do? Sell before they can buy?

I've sold to zero feedback buyers too lots of times before but not like this one i described above.

Recently had someone buy a sealed bluray and buyer claimed another dvd was inside it, I obviously had no way to prove it, so had to return and refund
