Who had the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine? any side effects?

I know a lot of people reluctantly had them as we were told they were ''safe''. With the news of AstraZeneca and its worldwide withdrawal this week I would be interested to hear if anyone has experienced noted side effects. Mainly blood clots and low blood platelet counts.

My dad had the AZ vaccine and had a stroke not long after. Nobody will ever know if it was the vaccine so I can't blame it but he was advised to not get anymore COVID vaccines. I'm not here as an anti Vax or pro Vax I'm just commenting a personal experience (edited)

I just had flu like symptoms the following day after the 2nd AZ jab. Nothing for the 1st...

However I was in Manchester on the weekend and I saw there was a group of people demonstrating against AZ ....I gathered they had lost loved ones.

Personally I dont have a problem with the Oxford AZ jab under the circumstances. I think they did a really good job at the time. Producing a vaccine that developing countries could actually afford as opposed to the Pfizer / Moderna alternatives...

People seem to have forgotten now what it was like in March/April 2020...

I haven't, it was wonderful. Cheap fuel, no queues, less people, less people on the roads, cleaner.. I still went where I wanted, when I wanted and never donned a mask either!

I know a couple of people who were injured by the vaccine, but the worse case has been with my next door neighbour. She received the AstraZeneca jabs and developed Guillain-Barré syndrome. She’s only just turned 50 and is on a walking stick now. She had to take early retirement. She’s been like this for two years, but there is some improvement of her ability to get around. Another came down with a different palsy and had several lumps around the neck and chest. There seems to be more information relating to this from the CDC in America than our NHS are willing to release at this time. (edited)

I got pressurized into having the AZ jab (no one's fault but mine) & had the worst flu like symptoms I have ever had in my life, but thankfully they only last 24 hours or so.

For about 6 months after I got chest pains from time to time. No idea if it was connected but I will certainly never have another Covid jab ever again.

I know a friend who lost her husband after the injection. He had a heart attack or stroke. I know someone else, his wife has been severely ill and blames the injections too . Not sure which injections they had tho

Sorry to hear about that. I am sure a lot of people will think twice next time, even if not in our generation social media will bring to the forefront our past experiences.

I don't know how old you are or whether you're in a risk group and got it early but by the time I was offered the first dose the risk of blood clots was being pointed out before you were given it.

I had it three times iirc. Nothing serious. Short term, (like 24 hour) fevers each time. Each one was rougher than the previous one though!

But... I haven't yet (knowingly) caught covid so... thumbs up from me I guess!

I had AZ for my first jab, was under 40 too, no side effects. Then by the time I had my 2nd one they had the advice not to give AZ to under 40's so had Pfizer I believe. Only 1 time on 2nd or 3rd did I have cold like symptoms which I believed was a cold at the time, which it may or may not have been.

My first and second jabs were AZ. I was ill for 3 days with the 1st, 1-2 days with the 2nd. Flu symptoms. 3rd jab was Pfizer. 4th jab was Omnicrom. No side effects with 3rd & 4th. I was put on the shielding list as i am CEV so wanted to have the jabs. I’ve decided i don’t want any more. I have never had covid though.

You must have been very high risk because AZ was pulled at the start of the 2nd round. Most people got Pfizer for the second.

Not sure why this is regarded as "news".

Astra Zeneca vax was pulled on the second round of vaccinations because it was the vaccination with the most negative effects.

You are years out of date on your current "news".

Ah & yes. I had a very sore arm. Which got better.

Myself, my 80 year old parents didn't have any jabs, all still healthy, having only mild 'covid like' symptoms for a few days.
My brother, his wife, my sister, her husband had 3 jabs and ever since their 3rd all are constantly ill! I mean, every 2 or 3 months they are bed ridden with chest infections (and/or test positive for covid' that last for a couple of weeks, go for a day or so, then return for a further week or two. Before the jabs they were extremely rarely ill with anything.
My cousin, after his 3rd (astra zeneca, had 2 blood clots, a stroke, and even now, barely has the use of his left side.

Good that these things can now be discussed online without heavy censorship!

Astra Zeneca never had a 3rd round & it only had a 2nd round to those who were right at top of the high risk groups because it was pulled.

But lets just ignore the facts (edited)

I had the AZ when I was 38. The first jab I felt really dizzy and hot when I got into bed that night for about 5 minutes and the same when I got up in the morning, but other than that, I was fine, and the 2nd jab had no side effects. Only had them as the oldies were pressuring us to have them, and we also thought it would have implications when going on holiday again.
