Are there any that could just be set on a timer so they can be set to off peak(economy 7)? I see this one has a timer, but looking at the instructions, it looks like the on/off times would have to be set every day.

I have this model and use it with a plug timer with no issues.

Was wondering if I could run this off a leisure battery after calculating energy consumption 0.24kw which I think is 20amp would get an hour of usage but might be too much load on the battery. Would be ideal for the caravan even to run a couple of times a month.

Depends what kind of leisure battery you have :). Note that this has a motor/compressor so you would need a pure sine inverter. Our 12L Meaco runs happily for an hour or two on a 300Wh battery with pure sine inverter.

I have it plugged into a power monitor plug and it was on 134w on full at 55% humidity.

I’ve been procrastinating which one to buy since Amazon refused to honour the price of a bargain Meaco in Feb. Used the code for the ‘12L Day Dehumidifier with Automatic Humidity Sensor & Display’ instead.

    Thank you for posting!!!

I have a similar dehumidifier, it’s safe but the timer plug turns on but you still have to press the on button it doesn’t start just because there is power. Not the exact model though

Guys your inputs will be appreciated Which one is suitable for winter Compressor / Desiccant one?
    Tornado_Gale's avatar
    Tornado_Gale Author
Compressor works best at temperature's above 15 and Desiccant work as low as 1

    Compressor cheaper to run (edited)

Anyone received theirs? Got mine today and I must say it's quite on the loud side when compressor is working. Louder than my fridge, quite annoying I'd say.
Not impressed, especially if I have to pay postage to return it.
Maybe I should've gone for the Meaco one, apparently it's much more quieter.

Literally just bought this 2 minutes ago for £110.49 with this code mentioned earlier, still pleased with my purchase lol, cracking deal, heat from me (edited)

There's another on the site for ~£130 after code. It's a dessicant one, so works to lower temperatures. Better for those who dry their clothes in a garage or conservatory.

Can someone help me understand which one to get. The PB-06 (12 litre .24 KW.h) and the PB-15 (30 litre .715 KW.h)

For an upstairs in a house which one would use less KW.h to dry the space from 50% to 30% humidity?
I ask as the more powerful one should do it quicker so would that mean in total it uses less?
Has anyone got a more powerful dehumidifier and does it run for a short time and then shut off and if you had a less powerful one does it run all day?I've an old desiccant dehumidifier which runs using about 530 watts all the time and it's 15 years old so I am looking to get a new more efficient one.

my understanding is it all depends how big your place is. 30l seems rather big for a home unless its a mansion.
You can have them running continuously or set to auto so then they shut of at the humidity level you set it at. 12l would cost much less and be more practical.

I would love to see a statistic of litres per KW.H in a controlled environment so you could compare them but the 30L one is a big unit. The current one I have I put upstairs during the day and then put it downstairs at night so I do not hear it at all. so the 12L unit is probably plenty. Just looking to see if the the supposedly brand leading MEACO ones are worth paying more for.

Has anyone else taken delivery and found it painfully noisy? Like having a bag of crickets in the house (edited)

Yeah, see my post above. I think I might take the hit on postage and send it back, will probably go for a Meaco one, seems to be quieter.

Code has expired. You can get a 10% discount via mailing list but the Amazon one is better value and better energy consumption too.
