Thought these things were a total gimmick but since covid, now have two HEPA purifiers (not this one). Probably helping with hayfever too.

Need to consider price of the replacement filters when gauging price, as this varies.

Have to agree. Got a Xiaomi one a few years ago. Filter replacement is a cost, last Hepa one was £30. But has helped my hay-fever a lot. Even when I'm cooking in next room it spools up, so its definitely sampling the air. In winter I manually start it to circulate hot air from radiators.

I am surprised at Amazon for making this so expensive relative to the Phillips branded equivalent.

Air purifiers are like coffee capsule machines, in the sense that the manufacturers are going to make a lot of money from you in the long run by purchasing coffee pods, but here it is replacement air filters.

When it is only £30 cheaper than the reliable branded equivalent, I am not inclined to purchase.

This should be dirt cheap from Amazon own brand. They've really missed a trick here I think, this would sell like hot cakes at cost price, and they would make loads more money by locking in many more customers to buy replacement parts.

The filters aren't cheap either but amazon don't really control the amazon brand, I think Chinese companies license the brand name in return for holding up certain standards, but these days it's just tat.

Air filters really do work. If you have pets, leave it running before going to bed and you'll notice the difference in the morning. Some common sense is needed, like not leaving it running with the windows and doors open (you wouldn't with the heating running) and they're great. A bit noisy, but they can cool a room too.

Cool a room? Actually they very very tinily heat a room from the fan spinning generating heat.
