My first post on here even though I often consult this site, but I thought this was a very good deal so I decided to post.
So you pay £5 upfront and you get a monthly allowance of:
200 mins to any network
200 sms to any network
512Mb
+ free calls to Ovivo (on top of free allowance)

Downsides:
For now, when you go online, you are redirected to the ovivo website which displays ads. (not a big deal for me but let's see how it evolves in the future)
Only works for Android phones, win7 and Iphones (blackberry phones should follow up shortly).

Roams on Vodafone.

After allowance, 6p per min, sms or Mb.
I subscribed and I am very happy with it so far. I think the downsides are not that bad for what it offers, especially that in my case, the free allowance covers by far what I need, so I don't have to remember to top up etc. I had to contact CS and I must say, it is very reactive and friendly.

Tethering allowed, you can stick the tablet's sim in a dongle to use on a laptop.

Probably not for everyone but I am sure many people will be interested.

Update: as pointed out soled73 they only supply standard SIMs NOT microsims
- bp4917

I have posted the cheapest microsim cutter i could find if anyone is interested in cutting down their SIM cards
- bp4917

Remember you need to add their APN. On Android, for internet access use (APN type: default, worked for me):
Name: Ovivo Internet
APN:ovivomvno.com
APN type: internet
OR
Name Ovivo Internet
APN:ovivomvno.com
APN type: default

For MMS use:
Name: Ovivo MMS
APN: ovivomobile.com
Proxy: 212.183.137.12
Port: 8799
MMSC: mms.ovivomobile.com/ser…mms
MMS Proxy: 212.183.137.12
MMS Port: 8799
APN Type: mms

Just thought I'd add this (from the t&c) to the original description so people know what they're getting in to! (Credit to rathod post #114 and stuartc1 post #115). Also see first post by kas786 to see the dodgy history of the company!

dont forget that this offer is available for mobile data too

ovivomobile.com/23/…ff/

Got my sim up and running in an unlocked Three dongle.

Just make sure you do not give them a phone number when ordering and use a disposable email address. that way they cannot spam your normal email address / have no connected voice line to call - so the only way they can get you is by post and that can go straight in the bin. Use a made up name so that you can spot the Ovivo generated spam.

Do you have to be online for a certain amount of time each month? Can you just make use of the minutes and texts but never go online so never see the ads?
For Windows phones too!
Sounds pretty good to me, surprised this hasn't got hotter. What network is this Voda?
No, as far as I know you only go online whenever you want, well I do.
But I suppose if you never look at the ads, the service won't make any money and the service won't be sustainable.
I forgot to say that there is an option for tablets where you get 1Gb per month (but no calls)
So do you get adverts coming up and appearing on every website you visit

Or just on the ovivo website ?
It appears once, when you try to reach any website.
Then you have the option to click on the ad, or to use the skip button which let you go to the site you wanted to see.
You don't seem to get more ad for the whole session.
So I don't find it bothersome so I am happy with the service.
Theres no way this is going to last long , well I don't see how anyway.

It will be like blyk where it lasted a few months but we will see.

Its pretty good though , you only pay £5 and thats it .

This is also prob better for mobile broadband than samba mobile.

Also I don't know if you know this yet, but if you went over your 512mb allowance, does it give you any notification or anything ? Or a way to check ?

Whats vodafone 3g coverage/ speed like ?
I think you can check with a facebook app but hey, I am not a facebook fan so I didn't check.
I use 3G watchdog.
Also, I asked CS and they say you can use tethering but 512Mb can meld fast.
But you can use the tablet sim into a dongle and you get 1Gb, so that's much better than Samba
What is the cheapest android handset around at the moment?
So it's basically PAYG with free minutes/text/web even if you don't top up?
Can't understand why this is not Red Hot !
From their website, seems you just pay £5 to sign up & then get the deal above FREE every month !!
Even if you go over free monthly allowance, it's only 6p min

Found this article (although now only £5, not £20 & increased mins etc from 100 to 200 ) link below :

thefonecast.com/Opi…spx

Definitely giving a try , as rarely use more that 150 mins month, which means no more charges
Yep basically its the same as giffgaff , and instead of paying £10 a month for a goodybag, (which you do on giffgaff) you get a goodybag free every month without topping up.

But you get adverts when you first browse the web

And free call and texts to other ovivio users

Probably because people assume at first glance (like I did) that it's £5 per month
Quidco?
From the Terms and Conditions:

"5.6 Further, We reserve the right to terminate the Service if:
(a) Following suspension under clause 5.5, your Account remains inactive for a further period of 120 days without topping-up; or
(b) You only use such part of the Service that is free."
this is not red but maroon hot.... heat added,

what else one can expect....... its basically free for a user like me who never uses more than 200 minutes, 200 texts and half a gig of half decent internet,...... who cares if i have to watch a few adds in my browser heat added...............................................................................

I know, I noticed that and I contacted them about it.
They said that it was to protect them.
So basically, they told me not to worry about that, no minimum payment is required but I do agree, it is still in their T&Cs.
But anyway, it is free for now so I am using them.

This is NOT like giffgaff.
With this, you pay a one off sign up charge of £5 ( which you then get back in credit, to use if you go over monthly allowance) & you get the above mins etc for FREE , EVERY MONTH !

If you go over the FREE mins in any month,THEN your credit kicks in '@ 6p a min. !!!!!!

Unbeliveable - The other Networks are going to be very rattled on this one oO

If you read what I said. I said that you get it free without topping up.
Beware and check before signing up. When somebody calls you - will your no be inclusive in their allowance or will they get charged outside their allowance? That way nobody will call you if you don't come in inclusive minutes. I know like lebara/lyca mobile network operates this way. I.e lyca to lyca calls are within your allowance. Rest you get charged. Their network does not support cross minutes. Everybody calls you will get charged.

With Giffgaff you have to pay £10 EVERY month for Goodybag, as it expires. The only free calls u can make after that, is to other giffgaff users !
Additionally, u can call their customer services with any problems, which u cannot with giffgaff. & some people on their forums, which is the only way to get info., are extremely aggressive/nasty/abusive.
Just called Oviva an hour ago, after Sign Up, & spoke to an extremely pleasant, helpful girl !
Cant wait for my sim to arrive ! lol Heat added - for one of the best deals posted so far - Thanks poster !

It clearly states ANY NETWORK !
All networks charge if you go over your allowance appx 30p - but this one is 6p. !!!

You need to read the information properly.

Crazywoman means that when people call your Ovivo number from their phone (be it a land line, vodafone, orange or whatever) will it come out of their inclusive minutes or are the Ovivo numbers excluded from this?

Absolutely fantastic deal, unbelieveable almost, too good to be true...so thanks to crumpetman for finding the above in the small print. With that and the possibility they will withdraw the offer when enough people move over to their network, I won't be joining them. However, that's not to say it's not worth joining and enjoying it while it lasts!

My son is on Giffgaff with a £10 goodybag (inclusive minutes) and a credit at £0 and he can call me, so it comes from his inclusive minutes
omg, fantastic deal! HOT!
perfect for my SatNav AGPS
Great deal. Heat added.

The way I read it, clause 5.5 is fairly relevant to this clause. 5.6 only comes into effect if you have not made or received a chargeable call/text/data transfer for 60 days.
Fantastic deal just ordered for my son.
Hmm.. There's that old saying nagging in the back of my mind here.. "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". Having said that I remember when pre broadband, some internet dialup providers used to let you use an 0800 free number to use the service for adverts to appear on your screen. The services were way over subscribed though and virtually useless!
Fantastic! Just what I was looking for. I dont use my phone much and currently pay £35 on o2! more money for beer! hoorah!
Thanks op this is a super deal! Totally free that's what I am talking about! Heat added

So if you top up every 4 months you get 200 free minutes 200 sms and 512mb.....Works out at 1.25 a month, that is your credit anyway (so you can use however you like). This deals is still very good imo
what network is this?
Reminds me of libertysurf many years ago
that was good but did not last long
