£30 a day per person :/ 🍻☀️inc food. Cheaper than living in uk plus it’s not raining, I was in Hurghada in March, OK it’s not the most pleasant of places, bit of a building site, but it’s by the sea sun is shining the staff in most hotels are brilliant lovely people but above all it’s a break from the cesspit that UK has sadly become !!!

    Reviews are pretty terrible.

    tripadvisor.co.uk/Hot…tml

One of the reviews of many bad ones....

Arrived at this hotel Monday 25th February... Hang on !!! This is not what we booked nothing like the pictures we were shown ... At the check in gave are details to receptionist.. Yes you guessed it !! No booking .. waited for hour and half before told to go to restaurant for food ... olives it was called ???? So in we went small room leading to a bigger room !!! What no guest eating this seems strange... so my dad and myself the only two in restraunt decided to taste the splender of what Egypt had to offer .. well how disappointed we were . I can only compare it like a scene in that great film Oliver ( please sir I don’t want no more ... honest!!! Gruel looked more inviting ( By the way this food was the same every day for are all week )after are meal we then went back to reception were they had found are booking and was given a key to room 3507 and then taken by a porter to room led down very dark paths .. and still no signs of guest ... well the rooms standard was very poor dirty and old shower was disgusting and yes you guessed it no hot water even after running for 15 minutes after unpacking are things we went back for coffee at restaurant well the cup of mud I was given made me swap for tea ... At 9.30 pm we were both asked to leave and when we asked for beers told no in an angry matter .. no mention of other bars to enjoy are all inclusive evening .. we then retired to room ...,,
Next morning we were introduced to the manager firstly explaining are thoughts and saying that this was not hotel we booked ... oh forgot to say on the tv there is a video channel showing pictures of hotel we thought we had booked .., His reply would you advertise this place as a place to come ... later finding out the hotel advertised was the newest hotel next door ...,, owned by royal star chain ... I would give this hotel a one star and that definitely not a Michelin one the food is tasteless and you would not want seconds the entertainment... there was none and standards are very poor very poor .. This was my dads last holiday abroad due to his health issues and I feel royal star have let me down badly and my advice is to book somewhere else I know it’s not the staffs fault and yes one or two were friendly but this is my 3rd time in Egypt and this place definitely let me down (edited)

Hurghada.. bloody awful place..makes Kabul look like paradise! Nothing to do outside the resort just total desert, rubbish everywhere, never 50 yards away from the next scam.. "change for coins?" .. the hotels there give you a tablet to help PREVENT food poisoning I mean what does that tell you. Avoid at all costs

I really think it depends on your resort.

I went to Sharm El Sheikh and stayed at Rixos - cost me the same as this deal for just 7 nights, however we had an amazing time and the staff were great. No pressure for tips etc.

If you stay at a lesser resorts, don't expect absolute luxury

Just to counteract the bad reviews I went to Hurghada last year (steigenberger makadi 5*) and have to say it was one of the best holidays I’ve had. No illness at all and I drank plenty of cocktails (with ice) No tablets issued.
I did a couple of day trips to Luxor etc which were amazing. The food was unbelievable, carts to take you to the beach.
Yes you will be hassled by the locals to buy stuff but this happens in every country you go to with a poor economy.
If you want a relaxing holiday then I would recommend Hurghada.

I've been to Hurghada twice and people are definitely 'keen' to sell you tat and lord only knows what else. I once got told that I had no respect because I wanted to go for my dinner halfway through his spiel about ornaments and fragrances. However, I had come back from a long day of diving and was ravenous, quite frankly, I was in no mood for any pitch. The quality of food in Egypt was challenging to my western palate if I was being polite - I also suffered 4 days of an uncomfortable stomach. However, the hotel itself was quite nice and the diving is really good in the Red Sea so it's worth going for that. Though maybe it's just me but I'd struggle to find 24 degrees water temperature comfortable.

Please avoid Hurghada. Disaster of an experience once you leave the hotel.

Seems like a decent deal to me. 21 nights all inclusive in a decent hotel, plus flights for £643 pp is impressive! Spending time in a different climate, eating different food, and water with different makeup, along with heat and change in routine, is bound to upset your system in varying degrees, depending on how you have over-protected your immune system at home. It’s part of the package when visiting different countries/cultures…if you’re going to complain about that, best stay home.

I agree with most parts of what your said. However I’ve traveled to many parts of the world and had no issues. It was only when in Egypt and particularly in Hurghada did I and other half suffered from food poisoning which left both of us bed bound for a whole day so a 7 day trip was really a 6 day trip. My experience does not seem unique judging by the comment section of this deal.

I go to Hurghada every year with the family and love it. However I know the hotel well and what to expect.

Bad stomach, I can't speak for this hotel but its more likely caused by one or more of the following rather than food poisoning
    - Extreme change in heat
    - Sitting in the sun / pool with not enough or low factor sun cream
    - Drinking too much alcohol
    - Not drinking enough water
    - Change in food
    - Longer flight than people of used to

In terms of the area, I don't tend to leave the resort. If are are the type who likes to explore the area / go out to eat at local places not part of some trip then probably not for you. Like many more poorer places in the world people are desperate for you money.

Not seen it mentioned here but you also need a visa which is $25 pp. You can them in advance on line or at the airport. If you get them from the airport use the kiosk called "BANK". Don't get them from a "rep" that will charge you extra.

I may get slaughtered on here, for saying this. I've been to Egypt twice. Sharm and Hurghada. Every time I left the hotels for a snoop around. I've been accosted by people. The normal, no thank you doesn't work. You just can't wander around, without someone hassling you. If I went again, I'd stay in the hotel and just enjoy. Everything it has to offer.

No chance. 7 nights wasn’t even enough to properly explore our resort when we went last year and we only left it once to go deep sea snorkelling.

All depends on the resort I guess though. Ours had 19 pools.

Done Egypt twice, both times on the resort great, the local Senzo Mall in Hurghada again great as you get left alone.. but you step out of the resort, the orange and blue taxis are scammers, '£1 my freind anywhere you want' get in it changes instantly to £100 followed by being threatened and spit on..

went to Valley of the Kings in Luxor, great history what a shame the museums employ scammers, take your phone for a photo want £20 to give it back. every corner someone shouting "Coke, Fanta, Sprite, Nescafe" and then trying to rip you off.. even the tour guides will well and truly do you over..

If you are staying on the resort and never ever going out of it, then go otherwise, go Turkey. (edited)

Why would anyone book a holiday in Egypt when you can book a cruise and never go back to flights & hotel again. The difference is so huge it’s worth the extra money

Personally I wouldn’t go to either Egypt or Tunisia, even if it was for nothing! Not everyone can afford to go a cruise, I’ve done it, and doubt I would do it again, even though we enjoyed it.

Every time I've been to Egypt I've developed stomach issues on day 3 or 4 and not been able to eat anything for another few days so an all inclusive wouldn't represent value for money for me ! (edited)

Another terrible one. The list goes on and on for bad reviews on trip advisor

This was a awful experience! From the first second we’re there, a man starts following us, leading us somewhere to eat, even though we told him, we just wanted to chill, alone, and walk around! I know it’s Egypt, and everyone wants to sell stuff to the tourists, but this was so scary, at some point my husband and him had an altercation and the manager told him to stay away from us (he has a silver butique in the hotel)
The bathroom was awful, no water in the shower, and the toilet couldn’t flush, the food was uneatable, even though I normally really enjoy Egyptian food, we had all inclusive, but to use if fully, we had to go to another hotel, very misleading, and this we found out the last day we were there. The only two good things about this hotel, was the cleaning men, and that we got a big bottle of water everyday. I will NOT stay here again!

We booked our holiday for 12 nights to Hurghada in September. We are planning on staying in Hurghada for 2 nights, then driving to Luxor from Hurghada at night, but I was reading that it is unsafe to drive that route day or night, any opinions??

We are then staying in Luxor for 2 nights, then driving to Aswan for 2 nights and back to Hurghada for the remaining duration.
