I assume this come with the paper filters but having never owned one of these before for long term money would it be better to buy the metal plate to use instead?

sorted by- I got a metal filter, but it emptied too quickly. A paper filter can be reused about 5 or 6 times. But now I use a metal filter with a paper filter on top. Bit harder to squeeze, but the paper filter now lasts twice as long
- Gone up 2 quid!
- Or if you go to work and the coffee there is badThis! ☝️
- The aeropress may be the greatest invention known to man who works from homeMine went in the bin. Tried for weeks to get it to taste good, spend almost £100 on different coffees, different grinds and all sorts and all tasted bad (to me). Plenty of people rave about it so take this with a pinch of salt!
- Had these for years now. I ended up getting three of them. One kept at work, one at home, one at partners house. Ever since getting my first one, have never had instant coffee again. Use the inverted method. (edited)
- Bought my second Aeropress from Rave, the signature blend is decent. got some others arriving today too (edited)
- I agree with you both, it's the best!
- Think it's usually this price or similar with the newsletter sign-up
- Yeah, think this is usual price. Codes not working for me also.
- I got this on a similar deal a few months ago, which sounds from others like it's their normal deal price anyway.
Suffice to say the Aeropress is superb, folk at work have even started to follow suit and bring in their own to the office. Much better than the instant council coffee in the office canteen! Just be warned, you'll never go back to instant once you start using this... - 350 filters will last you a long time.
- 250g of coarse or fine coffee? Would make a difference on how many cupsYou can choose I think. Filter is the grind type they recommend for the Aeropress. (edited)
- Absolutely love the Aeropress and I'd consider myself a coffee nerd/snob. Compare the coffee side by side with cafetiere and the results are night and day.
- I wasn't impressed until I tried using 2 filters, then it tasted loads better. Love it, but am already starting to feel lazy and would rather a machine do the work. The Columbian sugar-method decaf is the best decaf I've ever tasted, no aftertaste, but it's more powdery than the Signature Blend (both supposed to be ground for filter), which clogs up the filters quicker and makes it harder to plunge. Maybe they use the same setting on the grinder but the beans react differently, the decaf beans turning to dust easier or something...
- Good spot OP
I love mine, in fact I’m on my 3rd one having worn 2 of them out.
Purchased for family members too and they love theirs tooWorn out? you know you can order replacement rubber seals for the AeroPress.
I have ordered them before off amazon - Buy climpsons single origin and grind yourself. Amazing with an aeropress
- Lost mine at the airport security in the summer. Must have not seen it in my tray or maybe it fell on the floor. But I've been using a God-awful press for months now. I'm missing that silt free clean brew. Ordered, thanks.
- Not a big coffee drinker, and certainly not black.
Tried aeropress for almost a year on and off; various techniques and coffees from the likes of Rave, Grind etc. but was never bowled over. Plus, the idea of pouring boiling hot water on a twenty quid piece of plastic and drinking that just didn't appeal to me lol. Sold on eBay. My friend purchased one recently. It turns out new ones have a cheaper rubber seal, unless he was just unlucky. Gone back to my Clipper instant and far happier. (edited)
