Any disadvantages other than extra cost? Higher power consumption? - Seems to be trending upwards with advances in TVs, and if its only for bedroom use…

What’s so special about these TVs compared to buying the fire stick separately and a tv of your choice? (edited)

it may be me but I cant see anything that states it has built in Wifi - been caught out before with a tv when it says it has Wifi but then I had to buy a usb dongle to be able to use it - anyone see if it definitely has built in WiFi?

If someone is looking for a budget tv they’re better off buying a £300 4k lg tv and a firestick separately.

    I've got two LGs - a 27" 1080p with HDR and a 47" 4K with HDR.

The 1080p blows the 4K out of the water. It's faster, brighter, clearer. The 4K HDR is muddy and washed out whilst the 1080p is incredibly vibrant.

And I suspect it's because it was a top of the range HD whilst the other was a bottom of the range 4K.

Having said that I also got a Hisense 43" 4K Roku which is better than both, and it was cheap.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'd never buy a low end LG again. And if you want cheap 4K Hisense is a better option, or a top end 1080p.

Yep, 1080p working just fine for the majority of the World's population for TV and monitors.

Perfect if you can side load a certain APK file that only broadcasts in 1080p

Heat added all the same for the price

I'm quite surprised they still make 1080p panels of this size in this day age. Especially when you can opt for a 4k panel for very little more money

It’s all about hitting as low a price point as possible, while offering a suitable spec.

4K on a 40” TV isn’t really beneficial if you’re sitting several feet from the screen.

So what happens when they release an upgraded Firestick? Stick a Firestick into your FireTV? Seems absolutely pointless.

Think there has been better deals about lately than this so not sure why so much heat. £19 more was getting you a qled 4k 43inch with hisense so I would be waiting for other deals to pop up.

Has anybody got a screenshot from this promotion as Amazon have stopped early I've been on chat for hours going around in circles and just spoke to a manager who will not acknowledge there was any such deal so if anyone has a screenshot much appreciated thank you very much.

Never ever trust an Amazon and promotion again as might as well just call me a liar. (edited)

Any good deals on 32"? There's a lot of cheap 720p ones but not sure if that's still acceptable these days
    MadeInBeats's avatar

It's hard, they're not interested in making them. Seems like everyone these days wants a TV big enough to given them sun tan. LG, Samsung, Philips all seem to do one basic 1080p 32". Then Samsung I think do one that's about £400 some sort of ultra thin picture frame thing. Have a look on Richer Sounds.

I am looking at 32in size of tv this or equivalent 32in TCL 32S5209K android set. It does not have to be full HD for myself as I am registered blind. My needs for TV is to have close to the sofa with bluetooth headphones connected. might cast odd game from my phone and also need Freeview play or and of course decent voice control and search throughout.

cannot make my mind up which one I know the specs of the 32in is slightly slower than this 40in model.

If anybody is interested this will be probably be a TCL as I found a website with a article saying Amazon was getting them to make TVs with Android's agreement. (edited)
