This is a gamer's favourite format, so IPS monitors of this size and rez have been demanding a heavy premium for a number of years now. Interestingly, IPS, 32" and 1440p originally sold poorly, so they were once a lot cheaper. Today smaller IPS monitors at 1080P with vastly higher specs are available for a song, because 1080P is no longer an ambitious gamer's go-to rez.

Meanwhile AMD and Nvidia are desperate for gamers to move to 4K- a rez that just doesn't work on the desktop (desktop users of 4K tend to have so-called 'retina' displays- ie., where the pixel density is so high, the Human eye cannot perceive individual pixels- and this is not good for GPU gaming, where one needs every pixel to count). This inability to sell 4K gaming is why Nvidia and AMD are now trying to make 1440P GPUs so expensive- and why they push high framerates instead.

I think most non-specialised gamers are fine at 60Hz (and even keeping a guaranteed 60Hz in 2023 AAA games at 1440p on a very expensive GPU has become problematic). Be aware that the fake frame nonsense of DLSS 3 and FSR 3 is intended for monitors with at least a 120Hz refresh rate.

What's the sound like of these??? I'm not too fussy but would hate a horrid tinny sound on the speakers. Thanks!

Would anyone recommend 32" over 27" at 1440p resolution? I'd be using it for work and gaming. I've been researching and I keep going around in circles, some say 27" is the sweet spot for that resolution, but others say 32" can be a bit more immersive.
