40p cheaper than last time and sold by Arctic themselves.

  • WELL PROVEN QUALITY: The design of our thermal paste packagings has changed several times, the formula of the composition has remained unchanged, so our MX pastes have stood for high quality
  • EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE: ARCTIC MX-4 thermal paste is made of carbon microparticles, guaranteeing extremely high thermal conductivity. This ensures that heat from the CPU/GPU is dissipated quickly & efficiently
  • SAFE APPLICATION: The MX-4 is metal-free and non-electrical conductive which eliminates any risks of causing short circuit, adding more protection to the CPU and VGA cards
  • HIGH DURABILITY: In contrast to metal and silicon thermal compound, the MX-4 does not compromise over time. Once applied, you do not need to apply it again as it will last at least for 8 years
  • EASY TO APPLY: With an ideal consistency, the MX-4 is very easy to use, even for beginners

    just a thought,
there are loads of deals on these woodburner fans,
surely this would make them much more effective?

going by, if your short on themal paste your computer would run much higher temps.
    must have huge thermal transfer?
for a while I've thought would this make a difference?

Thermal paste has a working temp range, go too high and it will deteriorate. Specs for this say "Continuous Use Temperature - 50~150 °C", your woodburner would cook this paste.

A graphite thermal pad might work instead, not sure if it would be worth the expense, as Mrdom says it will only affect how fast the fan starts up and spins and won't change the output temperature.

does this let you apply the perfect amount of thermal paste ?

    Arctic & thermal sounds contradictory

Thermal relates to heat and the Artic paste helps keep it cooler by conducting heat away

Any suggestion for a video on how to apply this to macbokm air mid 2012? I am about to change the battery so was thinking to do it. Is it doable? Hate to screw this otherwise an impeccable machine that served me well through doctoral training times. My kiddo likes it for games

For anything where the core is exposed you need a bit thicker paste. (I use a nocrua nt-h2) the more runny stuff thats easier to spread is better for chips with metal heatspreader on them. Read about the pumpout effect for explanation. I used an mx4 on my rtx 3090 and initially it was good but after 3 weeks the temperatures went up massively due to this.
