A fair price on these at the moment. A classic instrument that has that vintage sunburst finish. I'll be honest... I'd buy one right now, but just bought my first Fender Strat I love a Les Paul, but haven't owned one in a while now Maybe next year? (Probably way before)

Epiphone guitars are really well made nowadays and the headstock is way closer to the Gibson ones (It was changed a few years back now, thankfully) I wanted a Gibson myself, but the Epiphone alternatives are getting so good, I can't warrant the spend nowadays.

At A Glance
Coming from the Inspired by Gibson Collection, the Les Paul Standard 50s brings to life all of the historic vibes from what was a special time for music. The 59 Rounded neck profile gives a reassuring feel under hand. The ProBucker pickups easily reproduce all of the classic tones but also provide enough output and versatility for more modern sounds. The cream binding frames the body beautifully and adds to those vintage vibes. A Graph Tech nut is a welcomed modern appointment due to the increased reliability. This is a great option for those wanting vintage Les Paul style at a modest price.

Features We Love: ProBucker PickupsWith a ProBucker 3 in the bridge and a ProBucker 2 in the neck, the big humbucker tones are full and rich sounding. Huge chords and blistering solos all cut through with ease making it perfect for rock. That being said, they can produce smooth and luxurious tones suitable for blues, jazz and even pop.

'59 Rounded Medium C Profile
Staying true to the 50s vibe, this '59 Rounded Medium C neck has a great playing profile. It is comfortable and feels reassuringly well constructed. A great opportunity to have this feature without the vintage price tag!

Vintage Deluxe Tuners
Keeping with the style of the time period, the Vintage Deluxe tuners certainly look the part. With an 18:1 ratio, these tuners are reliable and will do a great job and getting you in tune and keeping you in tune.

  • Vintage vibes with modern playability

I practiced an hour (usually more) most nights for a few years. Got tennis elbow now. Not played for a month. Also stopped weight training. Any advice welcome!

This worked for me and everyone I've recommended it to. The Pin Firing section at the end is the fix. Good luck!

Yeah I bet! I really miss the feeling of an LP
I really can't go for one at the moment, and I'm pretty scared prices could go up in general

Had one of these years ago, unless things have improved significantly I find it hard to recommend. Good price for it mind you, but you get more guitar for your buck if you go with a Harley Benton, stainless steel frets, locking tuners, better pickups. I’ve had a few and while there are some very very minor qc issues (as you will get on any guitar) nothing a wee bit of sandpaper and lemon oil can’t fix. Wish Thomann was a thing when I was starting out!!

There's nothing wrong with Epiphones... but i would recommend going to an actual guitar store and trying a few out of the box before buying one. The quality can vary greatly and buying online means you get a random one.

I've got a Gibson LP and an Epiphone LP and I tried 4 out in the shop before I chose the Epi one. And it's pretty close to the Gibson in many ways. I upgraded the pickups and use the Epi for gigs, the Gibson is for recording and home practice only. Couldn't bar anything to happen to it on the road.

My mate bought the very same model Epi from an online shop and there are difference between the two in finish, fit and would you believe, sound (edited)

For this money it’s a mega instrument. Can’t go wrong at that price

Lovely looking guitar and a nice guitar to step up to from the budget end of the market. Probably not a good fit for anyone wanting to do a lot of fast lead runs unless you have big hands, but that neck should be comfortable for anything else. If it had P90s I'd have bought one myself!

Great quality guitars for their price Epiphone. Had my black beauty for about 15 years. Not as nice as a Gibson but £££

What flavour of Strat did you go for?

    Sorry, missed this @Qix_

It's the 75th Anniversary model, which 100% looks better in person, finish wise.
Bit of a controversial choice, I think, based on comments on the headstock colour

Was £509 with bag / pre-owned. Tip top condition as well.
Thankfully, I love it... My aim was to head to a music shop to try a few out, but my local shut down (Music Room Lincoln) and that's a 50 mile round trip.

They had two in stock - One had a dent in the neck and body and the other... Well, it's the one I have. Same price. Not sure if an error, but for what it is, it felt like a really nice buy.

i find les pauls very heavy, great for chugging riffs, not really impressed lead guitar wise, prefer strat type guitar tone for lead, ibanez jackson fender charvel etc, it's good price for what it is, id get a pro setup with better tuners bone nut and pickups, better electrics pots wiring etc. but thats just me, most people will be happy as it is.
