sorted byA few months ago I bought a zoom ms50 g multi effects (pedal sized) pedal ..£99 ...got tons of very good effects and has a bit of a cult following .
Not the most intuitive thing to get to grips with but sounds good and if you want to you can line up about 6 effects in a chain ..like you would on a board
for the price of about 2 half decent pedals it's a good option ...they always sell second hand if you want to shift it on later (edited)

For an alternative I'd go for a secondhand Zoom MS-50G.
