The Epiphone Pat butcher Special with P-90's
Seems like the best price right now. 389 on Thomman and 399.00 @ Andertons
Full Description
The Original HellraiserAggressive crunch. Snarling bite. Ferocious tone. There's a lot of things the Epiphone SG Special is famous for. Since its inception in the 1960s, this versatile axe has changed the course of heavy music for good. Now it's back to build on its epic legacy, and give the future of guitar playing the punch it deserves.
A true homage to the original legend. The SG Special gets its unique character from two P90 pickups. This modern twist reimagines the vintage sound you know and love, giving it added sparkle and shimmer. But don't worry. You'll still get all the low end response, mid range kick, and high frequency attack that's made the SG a hard rock icon. This is the guitar the 1960s wish it could have built.
Full tonal control for the versatile guitarist. With a three-way pickup selector, tone, and volume pots on board, you have all the tools you need to dial in the ultimate guitar sound. Whether you love to lay licks or prefer to keep the rhythm, the SG has got you covered.
The Guitar that Shaped Classic Rock and MetalAn iconic design. The SG was forged from fire and brimstone. With its signature double pointed cutaways, you'd be mistaken for thinking this guitar has the horns of the devil. But don't be intimidated by its devastating good looks. The Epiphone SG Special is smooth to the touch, fitting snugly in your hands with its contoured curves. Crafted from solid mahogany, this is an axe that resonates with the full force of both pickups.
Go from 0 – 100 on a 60s slim taper neck that helps players shred even faster. Whether you're riffing up high or chugging down low, you'll always find it easy to play your riffs. No strain. No hard work. No problem.
The SG is the ultimate partner in crime for seasoned slayers and total beginners alike. Every note is accessible thanks to a 24.724" scale length and 12" fingerboard radius. But it's the Indian Laurel fretboard that's the SG's true secret weapon. Alongside effortless playability, this impressive tonewood resonates with crunchy sustain. Rock and metal just got a new hero.
Play Your Best. No Matter Where You AreGreat tone is nothing without great tuning. With the Epiphone SG Special, you get both. Every single performance. Discover impeccable intonation from a Locktone ABR bridge. This historic design will have your strings singing in key no matter where you are. Whether you're gigging the local circuit, hitting the road on your world tour, or practicing at home, you'll always be playing your best.
Pitch perfect stability. Every step of the way. Gigging can be tough, so you need a guitar that is up to the challenge. The SG Special comes equipped with Epiphone's Deluxe machine heads, keeping your tuning rock solid at all times.
String issues? Not with the Epiphone SG. Experience consistent quality with the Graph Tech nut. That means no flat spots, no dead strings, and no tuning problems. Add to that increased bass response, mid, and high end harmonics, and you've got tone that's sure to turn heads.

sorted byTried a couple in the past ..including a Gibson ..which had really bad neck dive !....really didn't like how they instantly felt in the hands ..very quickly put them down
The only type of guitar I've ever had that with
...might just be me ....and this one might be different...but it's a punt without a try before you buy I reckon (edited)
I thought I'd want to change the tuners, but they're really not that bad, the P90s sound great, it's really light, and neck dive is basically non-existent. Excellent review (as always) from Colin
.....probably used one to hit someone over the head with (edited)
