I don't think they should go solely to food banks. They already get more than enough.

I can’t help thinking, maybe just give it to food banks, or the majority of it.
I can see the arguments though, some can’t afford to cook them, which is a fair point.
It’s a nice touch and a welcome bonus to the shoppers, I just think food banks or similar may be a better use.
I’d definitely take some if it was my local though. A great post for the locals. (edited)

My local one just had carrots, i got a bag, some people had bags & bags of them in their trolley. Went in for eggs, had none, came out with a bag of carrots (edited)
