As an owner, I definitely wouldnt recommend this. I got this free with my pixel. Its simply lacks the software and the hardware to compete with the likes of an Apple or Samsung watch. You are better off waiting for the next iteration of this which will likely come out Q4 this year

As an owner I find it does what I want and it looks better than the competition with is domed glass and minimalist design.

A watch that needs charging every day is not worth your time.

Probably a silly question but I could do with some help on whether I'd need WiFi or LTE? Just not sure if the pros/cons of each...I have my phone on me all the time so don't "think" I need LTE? If I do how much are e-Sims? I'm on GiffGaff BTW. Thanks in advance 🏻

Personally I prefer to keep my phone on me but I'd still buy the LTE version just because it's only £20 more and I reckon you could probably just buy a lower gb tariff as I think the watch wouldn't use much data but correct me if I'm wrong on that guys.

The Fitbit is, my Sense 2 that I got for £179.99 lasts about a week

Heat for the price, but IMO the product is not worth it.
I'm a #TeamPixel guy and I love their hardware, but Pixel Watch is a real-life definition of a first gen product. I liked it, but wouldn't pay more than £150 for this kind of watch.

Snap had the first pixel and currently have the 7 but this is a no at that price.

Good price from google itself but I'd still recommend checking unopened one from ebay on bid. Got mime for £145 and happy with it, but I still don't think it's worth more than £150.

SPO also still not available which is a shame

How does warranty work with them as you don't get a purchase receipt?

I'm not convinced about high price and poor battery life smart watches. I had a Samsung watch but could never read it without glasses, so I might as well take out phone. Bought a Huawei band for £35, records movement, and reminds me to move, battery lasts 10 days or more.

It is a nice looking watch though, there was a glut of them following the free gift with a Pixel 7/Pro offer in the autumn.

As an owner of one, I would definitely recommend the watch. Tracks exercises and heart rate accurately. I keep it only on bluetooth mode - wifi turned off and the battery lasts 1.5days easily. The watch's battery performance improved considerably with the recent updates.

By the way, it looks way better than Galaxy and iwatch

It's a good looking watch but just worth nowhere near where they have priced it.

I used to love getting the latest Samsung gear watch each release.
But as much as each one got better features, the battery life never.

I think even their latest release needs charged once a day.

Looks wise this is gorgeous and slick, premium looking.

But I suppose it's ultimately what you require from a smart watch.

I am currently rocking a Xiaomi smart band 7 pro, that the charge lasts for a week, allowing full sleep tracking and waterproofing.

Yes it's not even in the same tier as the pixel watch, but cost me £55 from Ali Express and has call and messaging notifications, and a wrath of fitness options.

For me personally, until the premium watches get a full weeks charge, I can't justify their price. (edited)

Excellent first find OP. Welcome to HUKD.
I haven't yet studied the Google Pixel Watch but I assume that it has e-sim facility. I know I am out of my depth here🔥

Cheers innocent, according to Google search the watch has built in eSIM on the LTE version and I'm pretty sure that I read that the eSIM that you get will have to be the same provider as the one you use on your mobile

If it had a curved edge to edge display it would have been amazing, but the bezel on it is so big it looks like a toy.
    heavywater's avatar
    heavywater
Only time I've noticed the bezel is when using the flashlight feature, other than that it just disappears. Bigger screen would be nice but the battery only just makes it 24 hours with an always on display anyway, no way it could handle more.

Huge fan of your diet plan by the way Brian, the results have been increbible. (edited)

Easily found at least £100 less brand new on ebay. Would recommend that and warranty is included, which google do honour despite them being bought off ebay

I guess, but some people feel safer buying from the authorized dealers. Each to their own

Looking for something I don't need to spend some Google store vouchers I got with my phone on, this on earbuds in people's opinion? I have a Huawei smartwatch and some edifier headphones already and buds always seem to fall out of my ears whenever I move so don't really need either!

My main annoyance with this is them making you use Fitbit. I am perfectly happy with Samsung/Google and apple fitness already. I don’t want to pay for features I get free on those providers and my mi band syncs with Google for fine! It’s a nice bit of hardware but I’ve not really used it as a result.

They now allow you to install Google Fit, it's not there by default but can be added via the store.

Same price at Argos plus they throw in £50 of Nectar points (10K points)

I think you should post this as a separate deal. I'm fairly sure it isn't available cheaper anywhere else, factoring in the easy to spend nectar points
