Not as ideal as a solid rubber mat and wouldn't use it if I was deadlifting serious weight, but then it's a tenth (or even less) of the price of rubber, easy to move and does the job of protecting the laminate underneath.
One thing to note it expands quite a bit in the heat, so if it's cold when fitting and there's no gaps for expansion expect it to bubble up a bit.
