Ridiculous waste of money and space. It's very easy to make soup in a saucepan, blending it in a kitchen blender if you want a smooth soup.

Try this: Fry an onion in a saucepan, add a tin of tomatoes and a tinful of water with a vegetable stock cube, heat to near boiling, add a good handful of red lentils with some black pepper (and salt if you must). Simmer for about half an hour and blend. There - four bowls of healthy, nutritious soup for £1 or so.

I agree! If you need a special gadget to cook soup there's something wrong with you! Cook it in a saucpan and then if it has to be blended use a stick blender or a liquidiser both of which serve multiple functions and will be used often, this is unlikely to be.
