Step back into the suit

Become the bounty hunter Samus Aran once again in Metroid Prime Remastered! The critically-acclaimed, first-person adventure has been revamped for Nintendo Switch.

The classic adventure, reborn

Calm and capable, Samus takes on this solo mission…but she is far from alone.

Step into her boots as you navigate the winding paths and interconnected environments of an alluring-yet-dangerous alien planet. Use powers like the signature Morph Ball and Grapple Beam to access hard-to-reach areas and find a path forward.

With revamped graphics, sound, unlockable art, and updated control schemes, Samus’ 3D debut has reached even greater heights. Use new dual-stick controls, intuitive motion aiming, revert to classic controls, or opt for a hybrid option – whichever you prefer.

Explore the alien environments and eerie isolation of Tallon IV
Journey through diverse biomes as you uncover the Space Pirates’ sinister experiments and gather information about the toxic substance that left the planet in ruin.

From the quiet stillness of the snowy Phendrana Drifts to the magma geysers of Magmoor Caverns, this alien planet introduces beautifully harsh landscapes and labyrinths.

Forge ahead to your next objective or take time to stop and scan your surroundings, delving into the secrets held by the creatures and history of Tallon IV.

Upgrade your arsenal to take on extra-terrestrial terrors
Use Samus’ Arm Cannon and go head-to-head against otherworldly creatures, bolstered Space Pirates, and the energy-sapping Metroids.

Revisit previously inaccessible areas and pay close attention to your environment to solve puzzles and get more upgrades.

You’ll need the help of abilities like the Ice Beam, Missiles, and several visors to dispatch the alien threats lurking around every corner.

I pre ordered Zelda yesterday at TGC and was sure it was supposed to give me reward points, however my email states nothing? I would have liked to use that now for this pre order.

is it because i checked out as a guest maybe?
    jco83's avatar
You don't get the points until dispatch. But if you checked out as a guest you wouldn't be getting any points. Check your account orders to see if you were logged in (edited)

I’ve ordered. But nothing about the £5 confirmed in my email. When do we get this and how do we know we got it?
    Skops's avatar
You get the points once they dispatch the game.

    This actually works out at almost £5.75 in reward points (2299 / 100 * 0.25 = 5.7475).

No-brainer if you shop with TGC as often as I do. Effectively paying £24.20, or less with existing reward points balance.

Thanks for the heads up. Releases on 03/03 - great way to mark the Switch anniversary (edited)

So can I buy this and get an additional fiver off Tears of the Kingdom once Prime is dispatched and I have the points?

For someone who has never played any Metroid games. Is there anything like it out there that would give me an sense of if I’d like it?

I would class Metroid prime as one of the greatest games ever, it’s an exploring, action adventure story driven journey, Metroid influenced so many modern games with its upgrading weapons and gadgets to progress through the levels or next section, highly recommend it,

    Price has increased to £32.95

I think it went OOS but is back? going to be selling like hot cakes i'd imagine.

Ancient, It's 20 years. That means there's probably 20 years worth of people who've never played it, your point makes no sense. You only ever play brand new games? Of course you don't, just hating for no reason. And It's £30. Not like It's a £70 PS5 game.

I don't know where the other thread went tbh (edited)

I couldnt wait for physical, so i bought the download but its bloody great. I skipped the Gamecube era in favour of Playstation and never played any of the Prime trilogy so, had they released this as Metroid 4, I wouldn’t have been any wiser or disappointed.

Such a great remaster, and a cracking price. Digital release coincided nicely with a day I'd already booked off work, so I ended up smashing through it. Thoroughly recommended!

Game Collection are my retailer of choice (after Amazon, naturally) - rock solid, reliable, been using them for years. I didn't even notice the £5 reward until I read this - I ordered it about an hour ago.

Ordered and hoping to use the £5 on zelda

And this time I’m actually going to preorder with TGC. Couldn’t ignore those reward points.

Bought, Dread got my Metroid addiction into high gear

Has anyone had theirs delivered yet? Had a confirmation email, took my money and nothing since 😬
    Illusionary's avatar
    Yes, arrived yesterday
  15. ravmania's avatar
How long do reward points take to show up on your account?

    Edit.
Looks like I ordered and then created my account after, which seems to mean I won't be getting the fiver in points.

Will be cancelling my TotK order from them. (edited)
    Illusionary's avatar
Email them, they'll probably be able to add the points manually.
  16. Skops's avatar
Is there any reason not to order from TGC? They do these bonus reward points often and the price is just as good.
    RetroCyrus's avatar
Only if you do not want to pay straight away and would prefer payment taken closer to dispatch date.
  17. hecatae's avatar
Is this playable on a switch lite?

Struggling to find a review that doesn't mention joycons
    LGB87's avatar
Think the default controls are standard twin sticks so will work fine on a Lite.

The Joy Cons are just for the Wii style motion control option.
  18. Kashim's avatar
I guess there's no need for the remaster to include the OG metroid as an unlock. It would be cool to have the fusion suit again though.
    Franzkill's avatar
Nah that would be too generous! There more than happy to charge you for it via their online membership though.
  19. Stander07's avatar
This was already posted earlier by someone else.
    TwoJs's avatar
But this is better, as you get the fiver back in reward points to spend on other stuff.
  20. EleZiuM's avatar
Bought. Now let's hope they get the Zelda Collector's Edition in I can use the £5 towards.
  21. Davey184's avatar
    Bought, thanks!
  22. odiedodie's avatar
Price is a bit sus. For Nintendo I mean.
    mart321's avatar
When you factor in that they have only included metroid prime 1, the price is what I would expect. I'm sure this is going to be great but im disappointed that it isn't the full trilogy, as has been packaged in 1 before.
  23. Gr0uty's avatar
Purchased, never played before and know I will make at least £20quid back when I sell it on.

    What makes you think that?
  24. mart321's avatar
Is anyone playing it, what's the verdict? Reviews are quite minimal at the moment but it appears to be a great remaster.
  25. David.McEachan's avatar
Ordered, thanks OP. Will do the same with preordering Like A Dragon Ishin and then have a tenner to take off Zelda.
  26. Master201's avatar
Full price for skyward sword was ripoff. 30 I guess is reasonable considering inflation hit gaming around now so fair enough Nintendo
  27. RukasuMi's avatar
when do you get the reward points?
    Illusionary's avatar
On dispatch, assuming that you pre-ordered.
