Description
Product Description
All the year round cauliflower seed by Mr. Fothergill's. Versatile, reliable and tasty. A traditional variety for successional sowings. A gardeners' favourite for many years.

Useful Information: Vitamin C; Dietary fibre; Folate

Sow and Grow: Outdoors: sow thinly, March-June or September-October, in a seed bed, 1.5 cm (1/2-inch) deep, directly into finely-prepared, well-cultivated, fertile soil, which has already been watered. Seedlings usually appear in 14-28 days. Water well until plants are established. Transplant 60 cm (2 feet) apart, both ways, when plants are about 10 cm (4-inch) tall. Plant firmly and water well. Early and late sowings may benefit from cloche protection. Or sow indoors, January-March, 0.5 cm (1/4-inch) deep, in a tray of compost. Water well and place in a cold frame or unheated greenhouse. Keep moist. Transplant 5 cm (2-inch) apart to other trays, when large enough to handle. Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts) before planting out, April-August, into well-cultivated, fertile soil. Harvest: June-October.

Hints and Tips: To preserve curd quality, snap and turn the outer leaves over the heads for protection against sunlight.
