You have to buy a new lens as well

"This cashback is available if a new D80, D40 or D40x is purchased with any of the lenses listed below."

    So more cost involved

I suppose there's nothing to say you couldn't take the lens back though:whistling:

I think the lens that comes with the kit qualifies. See here:

The kit lense is acceptable for the offer.

You'd need to send off the warranty slip so you couldn't return the lense.

Unfortunately you can't use a voucher AND get quidco.

    From quidco John Lewis entry:

"The use of discount codes and vouchers will result in your cashback being declined."
  9. rjm67's avatar
Quidco says JL will refuse referral if a discount code is used. Plus, 6% of £299.99 is £17.99, not £30. Still a good deal at £249.99 though... IMHO

Not sure when this was introduced but I've always used discount codes and never had my quidco rejected. What have you got to loose?!

Funny that this thread should crop up today... I bought a D40 on around the 5th of September, a few days after the last cashback expired

After registering the camera on the nikon site they sent me an email saying words to the effect of "thanks for buying the camera, if you bought it before august 31st, send us your receipt/warranty slip (etc etc) and we'll send you a cheque."

As I bought it after that date I didn't bother sending them anything at all.

A cheque for £60 arrived from Nikon this morning!

you could order 1 off dixons or currys, if you get the d40x for £399.99 add something for 1p+ then use a £25 off voucher, then quidco . £375 - £40 cashback = £335:) 0 quidco

    you can get the d40 for £299.99 from dixons, use the 5% code £285 + £5 delivery - 1% via paypal referral, around £288 - £30 cashback = £258

when nikon had their last cashback offer, if was about £60 for d40x instead of £40:( im glad i got my canon 400d for £338 after cashback, codes and quidco.

You're lucky! I tried it a while back when buying a fridge and had the Quidco claim rejected. But, as you said, it's worth a try!
