So more cost involved
I suppose there's nothing to say you couldn't take the lens back though:whistling:
I think the lens that comes with the kit qualifies. See here:

You'd need to send off the warranty slip so you couldn't return the lense.
You mean the recipt? Copy the recipt?
To qualify for this promotion, proof of purchase in the form of a legible photocopy of the retail receipt or invoice bearing the product name and date of purchase is required, plus the original sheet B of the camera and lens warranty slips. Submitted documents will not be returned to the applicant. Proof of posting will not be accepted as proof of delivery. Nikon cannot accept responsibility for lost, delayed, damaged or illegible applications.
I think the lense that it comes with it is valid..?
From quidco John Lewis entry:
"The use of discount codes and vouchers will result in your cashback being declined."
Not sure when this was introduced but I've always used discount codes and never had my quidco rejected. What have you got to loose?!
After registering the camera on the nikon site they sent me an email saying words to the effect of "thanks for buying the camera, if you bought it before august 31st, send us your receipt/warranty slip (etc etc) and we'll send you a cheque."
As I bought it after that date I didn't bother sending them anything at all.
A cheque for £60 arrived from Nikon this morning!
you can get the d40 for £299.99 from dixons, use the 5% code £285 + £5 delivery - 1% via paypal referral, around £288 - £30 cashback = £258
when nikon had their last cashback offer, if was about £60 for d40x instead of £40:( im glad i got my canon 400d for £338 after cashback, codes and quidco.
5 days ago here :-( :-(, but I did buy it for a good price, so maybe not quite so pitiful.
try anyway! they sent me the cheque and I didn't even apply, just registered the camera on the website
could you not return it and get this one?
£30 is the cashback not the quidco...
You're lucky! I tried it a while back when buying a fridge and had the Quidco claim rejected. But, as you said, it's worth a try!
