Happy enough with mine (paid much less a year ago).
The probe is excellent. Lots of cooking area (rather than volume), which is good unless you want it to cook whole un-spatchcocked chickens. The grill plate is perfectly OK, if underwhelming, and needs a storage space as it won’t fit inside with the basket.
Pleased I also bought the rack to fit. Using that only (no ninja pan) I use small ovenproof dishes when I want to catch and use the cooking juices, or do something like a gratinee.

Against other airfryers, choose this for the probe, the area and the grill. (Salter now offer a cheap (smaller?) competitor.j Otherwise choose something else!

I have two pairs of small ovenproof rectangular dishes both bought at Lidl (at different times) Any two will fit in the 551, whereas I can’t even get one in my convenient but small (4 litre?) Aldi airfryer with the round removable basket.
No online sales at Lidl, but I found this from the codes under the product. icatalogue.fr/i/l…900 The big one should be fine, but the pair of little ones was what I went for. About £6 sounds right. The other pair is similar but not identical. I’m sure they will come round again, or turn up in Aldi…
I also have an antique enamelled roasting tin that fits.
Amazon have a variety of nice looking small straight-sided stainless pans, and I’ll probably soon decide which I might get… but can’t currently offer a personal approval!

How did you get the colour on the outside of the steaks? I guess the thickness of the meat helps.
I cook a sirloin and it’s still pale when it reaches the correct internal temperature.

MAXI HEALTH. That's misleading isn't it. I have an air fryer and don't get me wrong its great BUT I have since read that there actually as bad for your health as microwaves.

Any way voted hot for the deal

For anyone looking at buying this grill, I have it and bought some nice matching tongs with silicon ends that save scraping the enamel, here is the link if anyone is interested amazon.co.uk/dp/…i_1

This is a big old thing, gets very hot on the outside so oven gloves recommended, an independent review can be seen here:

eating lots of green veg, olive olive and not eating burn't food offsets the negative impact of grilled food

By switching to air frying, people can lower the riskTrusted Source of having acrylamide in their food. (edited)

The temperature probe on these fail quite regularly. I’m on my 4th in 1 year. Read reviews from the ninja website for the replacement process at £20 each!!!!
