Only recently started looking at standalone grooveboxes and the Circuit Tracks looked like it might be the model for me - self-contained with synth tracks, MIDI tracks but can also control two external synths.

I'm still in decision mode as it wasn't a spend I was looking to do just now but thought this might be useful. Amazon have a number of Novation products on offer right now. RRP for this is around £350 but I think it can usually be found in the £300-£320 range at Amazon and elsewhere. However right now it's £274.99 and it's also (for me at least) giving the option to pay over 5 months interest free.

Just took a quick look at Thomann and they've also got Novation & Focusrite products on a discount - £279 at Thomann (thomann.de/gb/…htm) and they are offering free delivery so would be cheaper if for some reason Amazon charges for delivery (if I use a browser that's not logged in Amazon is still offering me free delivery at £274.99).

On the Thomann site they have the deal lasting 1st to 31st March., my guess is Amazon might be the same depending on stock.

Kind of a self-contained alternative to a full DAW (PC or tablet-based digital audio workstation). This model allows you to build up tracks using internal synth engines, internal drum sounds, but you can also control two external MIDI devices the same way, all controlled using its inbuilt step sequencer.

It's a wide topic (ie best bet is to hunt around google/duckduckgo/youtube for more info) but in essence grooveboxes are at the simplest level a combination of both a sound source (one or more) and a sequencer, usually a step sequencer, self-contained so you just need power (this has a rechargeable battery inbuilt) and headphones/monitoring at a minimum.

Good to see a groovebox deal! You can find it a little cheaper at £269 delivered from Andertons: andertons.co.uk/nov…wcB

Ok if you want a step sequencer. Sounds werent great on this, which might explain the low interest.
