For WiFi control via alexa etc, you so need to purchase a hue bridge. A Chinese smart bulb is a fraction of the price.

They are Zigbee, not WiFi. (unless they have changed it recently)

My hue bulbs have been exemplary. Worked each day, every day for years with no issues. I initially was going to change them for Lifx ones when they went but they all work perfectly so never got around to changing them. Great bulbs.

Don't get Lifx. Nowhere as reliable. I have both and slowly replacing/getting rid of Lifx for Hue.

Do not buy Hue products, they drop support after a short time.
I have bluetooth bulbs that are 2 years old and are no longer supported, so they're just expensive dumb-bulbs now.

In what way are they no longer supported?
Mine all work fine. I have a wide variety of them of different ages & versions, & had some 7+ years & still supported fine.
    Which models do you have?

My Hue bulbs are still working after 8 years of everyday use. You must have had a faulty batch.

Same, whole house for 8+ years and never missed a beat or changed a single bulb.

Had one fail out of warranty and had hue for nearly 12 years now.

£10 a bulb is my biting point.

The extra lumens on the previous versions are an excellent improvement... we moved all our old 800 lumen bulbs to accent lighting and use the brigther bulbs for the ceiling lights. (edited)
