I had to use the RAC three times with a company car. The only way I could describe each of them was “Truly shocking” the pick up driver of the first one, was a contractor and said the RAC pay them the least and have the worst terms for “the customer” so like me you could be waiting by the road side for over 4 hours! I questioned all of them after his statement and they all said they personally would never use RAC.

I would not use the RAC if it was free.... that is not one of those flippant statements it’s a FACT!

Who do you recommend have you had any experience of another company

No experience of any others recently, but Green Flag and Brittania Rescue always used to get good reviews

Used them several times as I have their full cover included with a work insurance policy and I’ve always found them excellent.

My father in law was paying something like £250 a year for his RAC cover. It was a number of years ago but I got them to change to around the £60 mark, The price they were quoting online.

You really need to switch between the AA & RAC each year or they will rinse you.

Personally, Nationwide Flex Account Plus has been outstanding for breakdown recovery (also includes worldwide travel and mobile phone insurance). Fast professional response at whatever time of day (me and daughter have used them 3-4 time). £13 per month.
