    SLC - 1bit/cell best endurance
    MLC - 2bits/cell not so good
    TLC - 3bits/cell worse <= This item
    QLC - 4bits/cell worst, QVOs
    PLC - 5bits/cell tomshardware.com/new…ars

    Better than Qvo but still more for vaulting long-life data, not good as a workspace in which I would include boot drives

    Voted Hot. (edited)

    this is clearly a data drive not a boot drive

    and please show me an SLC drive from 2022/23 (not including a few GB of SLC cache for a MLC or TLC drive) (edited)

    Not everyone has an m.2 slot, everyone has a SATA. So good for those.

    ignore the whole bit about MLC its not really, thats just samsung marketing team who decided to reword words to change their meanings into things which they do not mean.

    2 bit = MLC
    3 bit = TLC <--- you get TLC in this item, not MLC.

    was considering 4x4TB Evo or Qvo drives, but considering how little price jump there is to 980 or 990 Pros nowadays I may just put off the upgrade until I can get 4x4TB 990 Pros later this year

    I paid £180 in 2008 for an Intel X25-M 80GB SSD.
    Still got it somewhere as well. A little piece of tech history

    Can you use this as like an external SSD? Just for photo and video backup from phones. Do I need to buy an adapter or enclosure for this? What would you recommend for me (around this price range or a bit over).

    Edit: Would this be better as an external SSD (using an adapter or enclosure) for value or would the Crucial X8 2TB be better value? (£106 on Amazon).

    Thanks
