Has anyone tried to register a warranty for these ones from ebay?

you can check the serial numbers using this link

    Seagate Warranty

It says these drives are from UK stock so should be under seagate warranty, check serial before opening (edited)

God, I can remember spending £250 250gb in the early 00's and thought that was a good price

Very good price for a great drive. I have 4 of these and have been impressed.

Are they relatively quiet? I'm coming from an 8TB Toshiba, which is a bit loud. Does helium make any difference to noise levels?

I keep hearing about how good ZFS is but what makes it any better than Unraid

    Thanks

Have CCL now put their price up 10% to counter this offer?

I paid £162 for the 16TB model last month and it has been ok so far, not too much noise but pretty impressive transfer rates as far as mechanical drives go

If you want more than 1 you need to order individually as the discount maxes out at £75

Can you change the RPM to 5400? I want to use in a NAS. Thinking of noise.

Last time I purchased a drive they came with a DOS tool to change the operation 😄

The physical motor spin rate can never be changed.
Some tools can change power modes, head parking, etc, but never the physical motor spin rate.

3 arrived, 1 DOA. 2 in a NAS building new storage pool/performing drive check.

Useful info from YT channels: NASCompares and SpaceRex

Seems like a great deal, thank you. Though it's showing £281.49 with the code for me rather than £245.
