bought one in november and stopped working already, cant recommend this tbh, the heat controller seems to die on quite a lot of them

Cost around £40 a week to run with current prices! (edited)

I think your math is way off the chart...

    50W/hour, 10 hours a day - 3.5KwH per week.

    That's around £2 max.

These are amazing, I hardly have to have the heating on in the evening with one of these over me
    Muig1972's avatar
Aren't electric blankets only meant to be used flat?
  4. flipper118's avatar
These cost around 5p an hour to run, quite a lot less than any other heat source

Mine's been plugged into an energy monitor for it's entire life this year. I haven't had the heating on yet. The meter reads £2.
Yes, my heating bill has been £2 so far this year

Why is click+collect now book in slots and chargeable? It's been a while but didn't it used to be free to collect things from the store?

Worth buying 100% but you will need a throw to put over it to retain the heat. It's cheap tat for the most part, but you normally get a 3 year warranty. Don't expect a replacement quickly tho, or good customer service from the manufacturer. But with energy prices the way they are right now then yes, it is worth it at this price.

Allowed me to order 2 via groceries app last thing at night for first collection slot next morning, only to send a "we had to cancel your order" email without explanation & inviting me to re-order?
Presume OOS so why not state that?

Is their app stock control non-existent/ slow to update or was there a last minute rush?

I bought 3, 2 as Christmas presents when sold by Lidl at £29.99. 2 have already stopped working so not really impressed by them.

Just picked one up in Tescos in Carmarthen and there were about 15 still available for anyone in the area

Let's see how long these last, before someone buys the whole lot and bangs them on ebay.

Coatbridge Tesco Extra had about 10 on shelve

Got 2 of them at asda black friday deal for £27 each. They worked fine during when the heating turned off.

seen a couple in Costco Gateshead this afternoon, must've been left overs from last month as there wasn't any prices, the packaging is confusing it shows the burgundy coloured throw one side & what looks like an underblanket the other & no indication which it was

How do you know if your local has them when ordering online.

It let me order and book a slot. I assume it's not a live stock check save it'll just get cancelled? (edited)
    Batch_2001's avatar
Yup, its on its way. Swindon.

(The order says substituted from "heated throw" to "luxury heated throw" - even thought the picture says "luxury" on the packet. Thought I'd won an upgrade for a second!)
  25. A14JB's avatar
If you can turn off your heating and use this it will pay for itself in no time, you'll soon be well into profit. They are so cheap to run and really warm.
  26. jinkssick's avatar
I got one pre-Covid for like a £15. Used it once or twice. Since this energy crisis, used it daily, for lounging in sofa and put mine on which has 9 settings, to 1 to run during the night. Like said elsewhere, this thing has literally transformed my heating life.
  27. nbuuifx's avatar
I've looked a couple of times at these but can't convince myself.

So far we have just taken duvets downstairs if it is cold and then we are plenty warm enough on the sofa under a duvet. In the really cold weather we had two duvets.

I'm not sure how needed the heat part is, does it just warm you up quicker? The duvets seem to do the job but I guess you can be a little cold for a few minutes until your body heat warms it up.
    BraddersJ's avatar
Basically this saves the faff of moving your duvets up and downstairs - assuming you don't have spares.

E.g. mine lives on my armchair in the living room. When I come down in the evening and sit down, I switch it on

Purchased one today, followed instructions 1 hours on ore warm, then to max possible power. It only heats part of the blanket, thus now going to be returned. A quick web search seems to show this is a common fault.

Very annoying as can't reorder as out of stock. (edited)

A lot of us had similar experience with Asda when they were at £40 before black friday with item cancelled despite it saying in stock when ordering. Didn't help as was posted on here so got popular very quickly so those going in person probably got all.

They then slashed it to £30 for BF and stores got some stock but unless you were lucky on the right day there was still none. Tried a few times and closest I got was an empty display that looked like folk had fought over them!
  30. ameenk95's avatar
Ordered online, got a confirmation time to collect… Then got my order cancelled two days later. Wtf.

There is stock in Leeds, bought one on Friday. And there is stock in Warrington, I bought a second yesterday.
Big stores have them. Smaller ones around my area don’t.
