I preordered it with them and paid £60, how is that fair?

I only went with them as I had Nectar points to spend as well

Buy one at £44.99 & return/refund the one you paid £60 for

My son wants this for his birthday in August and he's still playing BOTW.

Is it likely to be cheaper closer to the date?

    Thanks
    doppo666's avatar
No I would buy this at this price now it won’t be cheaper for literally years

I can't seem to sign up for the code - just get "Sorry, your email is not valid for this promotion". These are brand new addresses that have never been used for anything before. Anyone else having the same issue?

If you got iCloud just use Hide my email feature on the promo code form and then the code can be used on your already existing Argos account

I used the code on my already existing Argos account no problems

Never played BOTW. Do I need to or can I just start here?
    edgewaterfield's avatar
You don't need to play BOTW to start playing TOTK. The developers of the game even mentioned that newcomers will be fine.

If you really want to jump into this game now, I'd recommend searching "Nintendo BOTW recap" the video is a little over 6 and a half minutes and gives you a short recap of Link's adventure up until TOTK.

Got it late today so played little so far but hoping it lives up to the reviews. Because so far how poor it looks on an OLED TV is really distracting - indoors murky and outdoors aliased with overdone shadows - although it probably looks OK on the small display. Plus constant sound effects interacting with anything and a lack of QoL options - for a 2023 game that's not cheap. Xenoblade 3 lasted 200 hours, that looks great in comparison and was properly voiced - and that game got only a fraction of the hype. (edited)

Worth a watch if you have an LG Oled.

I really couldn’t get into BotW but can feel myself getting sucked into the hype of this game and picking it up. Help
    CalmerChameleon's avatar
I personally think the totk IS better that botw but they're both pretty similar, so if you didn't like botw you won't like totk.

I don't have a Nintendo but I'd be keen to get one. I'm just wondering if there are different versions based on the Nintendo? As in Zelda for OLED, Zelda for lite... Does anyone know?
    Mr.Nutts's avatar
The games are all the same.
    All 720p handheld.
Lite is handheld only. Smaller screen.
Standard Switch can be docked to a TV.
OLED Switch has a slightly bigger and more vibrant screen, can be docked to a TV.
Docked games can sometimes run in a higher resolution.

The consoles themselves have the same power and can run games the same. Personally I’d avoid the Lite as it’s limited. OLED is the best one, but if you’re always gonna play docked then save the cash and get standard, as you won’t benefit from the better screen.
That said, there are a few other advantages of the OLED model. Better kickstand (if playing on a tabletop with separate/disconnected controllers), and I think it has better speakers too.

Cracking deal for those who waited for the reviews to come in. Just bought. Heat.

    NEVER PRE-ORDER!!!

    5 years

    same engine
    same gameplay
new skills are worse than the old ones
the super glue mechanic gets old so fast ( minecraft added Redstone to overcome this)

Im reading (terrible) reviews online about how good this game is.
its botw DLC but without the magic of the first time
    i would give it 7/10

the 4k 60 FPS version is a genuinely amazing improvement
    the PC version is 8/10

I preordered from HIT.co.uk for £48.85 only to realise I could have got this for around £30 from Argos…I’m not sure what to do…(asking for a friend)…

Cancel your pre-order if you still can or return the game when it comes in.

Check your 'promotions' and 'spam' folders of your inbox. Should be in one of them. Mine landed in 'promotions' (edited)

Can't believe i'm that slow, i brought BOTW in 2017 and have only just installed it on the emulator, and have just opened up the map fully, to begin my playthrough.
    Will get TOTK after.
PS: How long to complete BOTW, i'm slow don't forget?

Not beat botw. Not even opened skyward sword or the top down Zelda on switch.... Obviously bought this.....
    DannyT691's avatar
Same! skyward sword still in the wrapper
  22. RebTheRebel's avatar
I haven't even played BOTW, I bought it a year a go but still to play it after the backlog of games. Was about to start it in the next week or so, but now I'm not sure if to just get this and leave BOTW as people seem to be suggesting (not just on here) that there's no point in playing it now with TOTK out. At least I won't lose money on it as this price will still be the same in 5 years time no doubt.
    Okyes's avatar
I'd crack on with BOTW if you don't mind missing out on the collective hype. It's a great game that many consider one of the best ever, so you definitely can't go wrong with playing that first (i.e. it's not like it's aged or anything)
  23. djgibbon's avatar
Just picked mine up - woman at Argos said "good grief, not another Zelda game" - reckons she's done 30 today!
    jco83's avatar
Haha nice. I saw on the TotK Reddit people posted videos of crazy long queues from different places around the US! Love how popular this game clearly is

Nice one! Code used and have just collected from my local Sainsburys. Still haven’t finished Breath of the Wild
  27. matthlock's avatar
Nice one. Used "+" addressing trick with my email to get the code. Also used my works discount for a further 7% off so worked out about £42. Can't fault that. (edited)

The "+" trick doesn't work for me 😔

Cheers OP, other half grabbing on route home, great price!(y)
  34. Czubaka's avatar
Massive heat. I used 5 pounds from Nectar Points so paid 40£, thank you OP!
  35. snotters's avatar
I gave up on BOTW after doing all the Divine Beasts - I never got round to trying to beat Ganon in the castle and I've no idea why - it's not as if I went off the game, I just sort of stopped playing it. Tears seems even bigger - the sky levels, the main map and the subterranean levels. It certainly looks set to be Game of the Year though.
    enclavemarine's avatar
I did exactly this then had a quick stab at the DLC and then randomly stopped playing for about 2 years. Went back and polished everything off a few months back when I pre ordered this and throughly enjoyed it.
I think it's just mental fatigue sometimes when it comes to open world games not lack of enjoyment.
  36. CurlyFryz's avatar
    thanks opp. ordered.
  37. colourpie's avatar
Wasn't going to cave on this one, the boy is only about a third through BOTW. But Nintendo being Nintendo this price will probably hold for the next 4 years. Thanks OP.
    mercurystar999's avatar
That is why i don't mind buying it now. We know itll still be £40 for years
  38. ROWDY's avatar
Collecting tomorrow £19.99 using voucher/code. cheers op!
