True story: I ordered a wheelie bin once (only had a recycle one).

When I wasn't in they didn't leave it anywhere and I had to arrange for a re-delivery! (Normally couriers dumnp stuff in a wheelie bins) I asked if they could put it next to the other one if I wasn't in.

At the end of the call I thanked the lady and said "Thanks you have wheelie bin helpful"

Is this a deal for poor people only? The shame of having a house number...

Avoid. I bought some and they went straight on the bin.

I put our house number on our bin hoping it would remind the binmen which house it belongs to

Made no difference......they still leave it 5 doors down the street after they have emptied it

The days have long gone when the binmen used to fetch your metal bins from your yard and carry them down to the bin lorry AND return them

I know which bins are mine, the rubbish bin is in the back garden, the recycling bin is in the garage. When I put them out for emptying, they end up at the end of my drive and I move them back to the garden/garage. If this is to prevent stealing (god knows why anyone would steal a bin), thieves aren't as stupid as they look, peeling a sticker is something even they could do. So what is the purpose of these stickers?

We live in a terraced house in a borough where the collection day isn't fixed. Its more practical for us & the collectors to leave the bin the front garden. Trouble is that they usually take many to the truck together so have no way of knowing which bin belongs to which house. Labelling the bins means we can have our clean bins returned to us eventually (I've done the swapping-run many times!) rather than an unclean one that smells like poop

Most people have more than one bin so multiple purchases will be the norm.

If the bin is kept at the front of the house, this will help other people knowing which house is yours on google earth when the next set of photos are taken.

Number 15 phones to ask for replacement for their bin which was left out overnight as required and are told they have to pay £20 for new bin despite anything they can throw at robotically-scripted voice on other end of phone. Number 15 says f- that and nicks number 45's.In the words of the Soup Nazi: No Bin For You!

I never knew there was so much bin envy!

Would be a better idea to keep a set of spares as these have a tendency to peel during winter, especially when snowing.

Do they have trackers too so I can see which swine of my neighbours keeps helping themselves to my well kept and clean bins , peeling off my numbers and passing it as their own!

Our council gives us as many free recycling ones as we like, mind you, they do only pick up the normal bins once a month. Swings and roundabouts.
