Did find a pic of that (not like your pics notts6501!) so will go with that theory - though might wait till hubby gets home and ask him...!

Don't click on the highlighted bit of the link. Copy and paste the whole bit loads of pic of them.
they are used to show to different information on the same graph. so the bars represent on thing then the line another thing (with an x axis on both sides)

As above!
If its key stage 2... then its like a bar chart.. but you just draw lines going up instead of the "bar". There are no joins as the information is discrete.. ie no relationship between information... eg pets in a class... so many dogs... cats etc.. no need to join the information. HTH

I am leaning towards this myself, but it does seem a bit mad - is either this or the bars without the sides like jonb2412 says ...

Thanks to everyone who took the time to post & try to help, would rep you all if we still had that!

I think it's just another name they give to bar graphs, it doesn't have any lines on it as such.

Thanks for that, think that is what jonb2412 said too - oops, looks like I have picked the wrong one as he has already done it this morning and we went with the one garbage456 posted! Oh well it will be all my fault now!
