  High-dynamic-range or HDR has become a standard function of a 4K TV. HDR gives the television the ability to generate a brighter image with greater contrast than non-HDR units. The light and dark sections of the screen are clearer and the TV has a much greater range of colours as a result.

• Refresh Rate

  The refresh rate is the rate at which the screen is able to change its frame per second. The most common rate is 60 times per second for most 4K televisions (or 60Hz). The faster the frame rate the smoother the action will be on screen. Currently, Samsung QLED TVs lead the pack boasting a frame rate of as much as 100Hz.
