Anyone, perhaps someone who works for them, know what is happening this year? It has always started at the menu change in March which I think must be next week ... yet no announcem… Read more

Mcdonalds app now let’s you order through Uber in the MyMcdonalds app. So I’d assume you’d have to order through the app to be eligible for the stickers. They haven’t told us much, just that they’re pushing for it to be all digital this year.

jamie15

How would it being all digital work? Will it be MyMcdonald's app/delivery only?

matthews9479

Ask uncle Jerry for his advice.

Ringfinger

They recently owned a Mcd's near us. When it gets busy the leaving traffic pulls out onto the back of the entry traffic- creating a massive circle of stationery traffic, blocking one of the main through routes. Absolute chaos. Must have been a 'brown envelope' planning permission job as no one in their right mind would think this would work. They need to swap access and exit but can't now as the drive through etc face the wrong way.

ReecesWaffle95

I work there. This is the correct answer. It will be later in the year. All digital this time so no physical stickers.

Chess Set. Want a "good" long term one, any pointers?
As above :) My 6yo has developed a taste for it, and I'm just catching up. He likes Harry Potter and I know there's sets based on that, but would really like summat more substant… Read more

I'd suggest sticking with classic sets like the Staunton. If he develops a strong liking for chess, that's mostly what he'll play with in more competitive games. The look doesn't really matter that much. I'm just suggesting sticking with traditional looks rather than the more fancy designs which tend to be more for collectors or chess lovers. Also, it's far easier to recognise the pieces. I love themed sets but they're bugger hard to recognise sometimes!

Play online for a while and gauge his interest. Lichess is awesome and I highly recommend it. In fact, I probably won't play on a physical board again. Too time consuming

You can play chess with bottle tops marked with felt tip pen all the way through to solid gold with diamonds for eyes - your call at the end of the day. What gives you the impression that he'll treasure this substatial set that you're planning for the rest of his life- 6 yr olds can be fairly fickle in my experience. I like the idea of getting him a set appropriate for his age like the Harry Potter and one that is not too expensive should he lose interest. If he does develop a lifetime chess habit, then that first set will be valuable in his eyes whatever it's cost

jameshothothot

It was called chess lvl 100. I got it as free from Amazon game of the day so for Amazon devices and also android. I googled it and it is also available on Windows store and therefore probably apple too. It might have renamed itself to crazy bishop

sussexroyal

Don't spend a lot, it won't be long until he's not the slightest bit interested in chess,

Pandemic Board Game
Does anyone know where I can get the original Pandemic board game for a good price? I keep seeing adverts for onbuy.com but I'm guessing thats not a legitimate place!
ajholmes93

+1 for Zatu. Used throughout lockdown 1.0 and very happy

james.benson

I found a price comparison site for board games (who knew that would be a thing?!) https://boardgameprices.co.uk/item/show/12/pandemic and it looks like I'll probably go with Zatu. Thanks all! Will have a happy GF that's the main thing

I bought a game of exploding kittens from Onbuy, paid by PayPal took a few weeks to arrive was fake

Phsycronix

I do wish people would understand what OnBuy is. OnBuy is a legitimate site. All it is though is a "marketplace" just like Amazon's one - or even Ebay. You don't "buy" anything from OnBuy. You purchase goods from sellers on the OnBuy platform. Many, many of these sellers are China/ HK based dropshippers. In the founder Cas Paton's own words about the business at the beginning of the pandemic: "The second problem arose from the lockdown in China. China went offline through their nationwide lockdown and this created a problem for us as a large proportion of our retailers were Chinese." You can read the interview HERE.

spidersoprano
