One neon sharpie and every laptop can has colour blocking keys.

Yeah, never realized how amazing it was until we got the laptop. You have to get a Vivobook to truly appreciate it, not just the function but it's artistic form. Why no other manufacturers had never thought to do it is beyond me (lol)

finnmaccool

Yep, but that yellow button...

McHotpoon

Probably worth dropping to the 4500u and saving £50 as the limited power/cooling (15w) on these vivobooks. The 15w of power is the limiting factor for performance, meaning the 4700u is only marginally faster (think 8% in multicore benchmarks from memory comparing two vivobooks). I got the 4500u in the Vivobook 15 because there was so little between the two due to the 15w restriction and saved £30.

Looks like the memory can be upgraded to at least 32GB https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/inspiron-15-7506-2-in-1-laptop/inspiron-7506-2n1-silver-service-manual/removing-and-installing-components?guid=guid-7fbb11d7-9820-47bb-afaa-48fa912314d9〈=en-us

Unfortunately it looks like Dell has reduced the discount before the code from £200 to £150. The cheapest I can get it for now is £629.10 with code DELLRG10.

Jumpernot

Seems like a really good deal. Can you upgrade the RAM on this? Been looking at the Lenovo Yoga, ASUS vivo book, Samsung Pro. It's hard for me to gauge as I'm in Hong Kong and looking at their prices but this seems like good deal if its upgradeable RAM? Does anyone know how the Acer spins fairs against these?

LennyLeonard

Same - has the price changed or is there another way to get the 584.10 price?

msefan

I am getting the total for this laptop as £629.10 from £699 with the code, am I missing something?

Stick a lightweight Linux distro on and it will be plenty quick enough for general use

wahidul89

Just to sum up this conversation, I've given my opinion on the deal based on the information available. Which is budget AMD processor, tiny SSD and D grade condition. You've been triggered by my lack of enthusiasm towards AMD and the deal. Then quoted i5 8250 (then changed to i5 8xxx) and said the AMD scores higher in a benchmark test and provided a link which said the opposite. Posted a video of the AMD processor in question versus an i3 processor. And then some videos on gaming using the AMD processor versus the i5. In response I have said your benchmark figures dont support your arguments, and also that this isnt a gaming laptop. You have ignored the first comment as it points out you're incompetence and concentrated on the gaming aspect. And also decided to play the petty grammar card. You have not been able to hold down a logical conversation/debate with valid arguments. You have gone back and edited every single comment multiple times. I suggest if you are that interested in a better Intel £200 deal then you have a look for yourself as this conversation is done. This was just a bonus message to point out you're incompetence.

Got it now too. Works great, nice design with the sliding shutter, and Windows Hello appears to work well. As per the other reviews though, quality is only just passable - quite "noisy/grainy", even with quite good lighting. Still for the money it'll do.

CeeBee

Mine's arrived today and I've just set it up - the viewing angle is still wider than I'd have liked, but I can live with it. The picture quality is miles better than the Ecam and the auto-focus seems much stabler. The colour balance is better for me because my desk faces a window and the Ecam always made me look very red-faced on a bright day!

jabbada

I literally use my Webcam as a mic even when not using video. My laptop mic is crap

ecosse87

It did, got one delivered for that price. It's good for Windows hello, fine for online meetings and for 20 odd quid it's good value. I've got good mic, for meetings it matters very little how well people can hear me but there's no added value beyond 'good enough' for how well people can see me.

Valor

I got this one the last deal - this is a great price. + Windows Hello + Easy to install/set up - No Mic (Stupid design decision, massively limiting their market) - Not great video quality (but perfectly fine for business/work calls) - Very wide design, be sure you have space above the monitor you want to put it on

Not a bad price. I'd note though that this is a 1065, so integrated graphics is nowhere near as good as in the 1165G7 (this config is £799 on the same site), comparable to Vega 10 for the previous poster.

CyberMarco

It looks nice, 2 questions how does it compare to the ryzen 7 counterpart What about the on board GPU, compared to a Vega?
