Ergh. I finally taught my Mum to use it last week.
I really don't want tailored vouchers. They do the worst vouchers ever.
They send me 20p off coupons for things I never buy. Or very little money off a £100 spend (like a single person alone is ever going to but that target!).
"...customers have increasingly told us they find the process of choosing and remembering their picks quite confusing."
I think it's the opposite, there was never much worth abusing.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I enjoyed my 20 per centers
It was fun using the PYO app Oh well, nothing lasts forever as they say Let's make the most of these last few weeks
"Please encourage customers to swipe their myWaitrose card to continue benefiting from exclusive myWaitrose offers and rewards. myWaitrose members can benefit from FREE hot drinks, FREE Waitrose Food magazine, newspapers, 5% off your dry cleaning, 20% off all fish every Friday from the counter and more."
Or just ditch your myWaitrose card so that they can't track and analyze your spending habits anymore... (edited)

I love Waitrose pick your own offers. I always buy my organic eggs from there with 20% discount. I don’t want Waitrose sending me coupons. Pick your own gives me the freedom to choose what I want. Not what they decide for me even if it is based on my shopping history. Please DONT SCRAP PICK YPUR OWN. WE THE CUSTOMERS LOVE IT.
There were some good bargains found by fellow hukdsters like kitty said vouchers 9 times out of 10 rubbish do send out 6 pounds off 30 ones sometimes (edited)

so a free paper 3 pounds 2 pound free mag they also did a 2 pound free drinks mag at christmas
30 -3 -2 -2 -6 = 23 pounds of shopping for 17 plus whatever cashback you can snag
top tip; save the magazines for next time as they 'sell' out fast (edited)

They've been sending me £4 off £20 spends sainsb. I shop there maybe one a month for one item.

Quite possibly. I think I started getting vouchers around the time a Sainsburys local opened near by.
Shame about this. Like some other posters above this will mean less trips to Waitrose for me.
I have about 6 items on my PYO list that regularly get discounted and that's when I get them for an extra 20% discount. And the vouchers they have sent me the last few years are mostly for items I have never bought or intend to buy.
With the 20% off if the item was say 2 for 1 it works out to be 40% off expected offer. So say if the item is £1 each and you get 2 for 1 then without the 20% off you get the 2 for £1 but with the 20% off, it works out the 20% off first on each item before the 2 for 1 so at £1 = 20p off X 2 = 40p off total of the 2 for 1 so (£1+£1)/2 - 40p = 60p so thats 40% off the expected price.
Does not work out on the items with like half price or 1/3 off offers though. At the moment there is a 3 for £10 deal on some of the meat you can get 20% off but it works out at to be £7.48 instead of £8 so thats a little more than 20% off the £10 total as they use the original price of £4.20 to work out the 20% off the 3 individual items so (£4.20 * 0.2)* 3 = £2.52 off the £10 so thats 25.2% off the expected price and the higher the difference with expected value of £3.33 the more you will save as you get an extra 20% off the difference.
So I think thats why they want to get rid of the deal as it works out to be more than 20% off ontop of the original deal.
On the sausages there is 2 for £5 which works out to be £2.50 each so instead of getting 20% off £5 working out at £1 off total at £4 you also get 20% off the difference of the original price on top of each item so £3.29 - £2.50 = £0.79 (difference) * 0.2 = £0.158 * 2 (items) = £0.316 rounded £0.31 off on top of £1 so total £1.31 off £5 so £3.69 so thats a little more that 20% off working out to be 26.2% off the offer price.
Quite possibly. I think I started getting vouchers around the time a …Quite possibly. I think I started getting vouchers around the time a Sainsburys local opened near by.

A lot depends on how much they want you back and how long it is since you shopped there with the card. Switching between two different cards is a useful tactic - it often produces £8 off £40 vouchers.
That sounds good, theoretically, and we do use them, but only for things that Aldi and Lidl don't sell - it's still only 20% off, and Aldi/Lidl prices average out at at least 35% off Waitrose prices.
The promise by Waitrose to give My Waitrose customers suitable offers to replace PYO has not materialised. I live on my own and I get coupons from Waitrose for £5 off for a £50 spend. They have to be kidding! £20 is a big spend for me. About 30% of UK households are single-person but Waitrose can only be bothered targeting bigger households who spend more.
My memory is only average but I was able to recall the PYO offers I'd chosen by simply printing out the email confirming my choices and keeping it handy when shopping.
Although I like Waitrose, the loss of PYO has made me look to other supermarkets for my spending.
Better to just have decent deals...their 50% off deals in the past couple of months have been good.
